Tottenham international could be on his way out this summer with Championship side interested

By Bruce Grove -

Luton might be prepared to make a permanent move for Tottenham defender, Cameron Carter-Vickers after his fine loan spell with them last season.

The USA international has featured in the preseason for Tottenham, but he knows that earning a place in the Spurs’ starting XI will be tough.

He enjoyed his time on loan at Luton last season as he played more than 15 games for the Hatters.

He is expected to find another temporary home this summer when Spurs sign a new defender and a move to Luton might become possible.

Luton Today claims that if he moves to the Hatters, it will likely be on a permanent basis because the club’s manager, Nathan Jones has made it clear that they will not be looking at the loan market.

On re-signing the USA international, Jones said: “We might not rule out going back in for Cameron, but what we don’t like doing is loans, so you can work your own way out from that.

“We prefer our own players as when we add value to players which we believe we do add value, we would like that value to be ours, that’s what we do.”

Fair comments and in all reality it is difficult to see a route forward for Carter-Vickers at Tottenham, there is just too much competition and it is probably the best thing for him to seek a move elsewhere.

Actually on the isolated occasion I saw Resiak play I thought he looked promising. Ditto that Giorigihou kid!

It’s not unique to CV not making the grade at Spurs as Resiak (remember him!!), Ryan Fredericks and Tim Carroll immediately spring to mind.

I’m glad you said that. There is something there you know. Tuff one. Head over heart he’s not quite good enough now. He’s at the magic number 23

Always been a bit slow he has. Slow at turning too. (heavy boned) Can get away with that if you’re experienced and can read the game well (as you know) He ain’t that. He’s no lower than championship quality. Really wanted him to make it. Solid at the back at the lamex with the winks Marcus joshy skip ect gen. Scotty parker knows him well, Scotty throw him a prem life line🌚. He kept Luton up

The fact that Luton are after him tells you all you need to know. No disrepect but we need better.

Am I alone in thinking it would be a shame to let him go now Ledley King is playing a part in helping develop players?
He’s big, strong, reasonably quick, composed on the ball, brave, good in the air, all the attributes of a good CB & debatably as good as or not far off Sanchez .
Obviously I dont see him day to day or in training, but as we don’t hear anything untoward or bad about him, why isn’t he given a chance to prove himself?
