From all indications, it seems that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg will be heading to Tottenham this summer as the Lilywhites get closer to landing him for a discounted price of £20 million which would mean a saving of £15 million off the Saint’s initial asking price.
The Dane had told Southampton that he will not be signing a new deal with them as he looks to move to a bigger team and further his career at a higher level (90mins).
The club tried to persuade him to sign a new deal, but he knocked back all their attempts.
He has now been stripped of the club’s captaincy (BBC), a step that looks like they are now sure of selling him in the summer.
They had valued him at £35 million earlier according to football365, but Football Insider is claiming that Spurs can land him for around £20 million in the summer.
Daniel Levy is reputed for being one of the toughest negotiators in the game and the Spurs supremo might even get the Saints to sell him for an even bigger discount.
Jose Mourinho wants to strengthen his midfield this summer and as he struggles to get a performance out of the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, the Portuguese manager will hope that Hojbjerg can bring the spark that his midfield has been missing for some time now.

That’s you.
You know what I meant and that I was only joking. Stop being a complete A-hole.
Yep. My club is hopeless. Struth!
Yep. My club is hopeless. Struth!
Is it a “stupid name” coz it’s not a English name? Maybe he should change it to Dave or Humphrey
Found out for sure yet?
Bigger clubs wanted them.
Why did they want to leave?
Well it certainly didn’t go on Bruno Fernandez or Dybala did it? ENIC FC are one of the richest clubs in football, Do the maths.
Because I can’t pronounce or spell it! How can a j frame either side of a b? It’s crazy pronunciation.
Why is his name stupid?
When you know that for sure let me know.
Yeah and where does that money go? Certainly not on new players that will improve us, perhaps it goes to ENIC investors?
Levy is a bean counter and thinks success is attained in the amount of money he saves on transfers. What a sad case he is. He should be in charge of a market stall not a football club. As for Hojbjerg, firstly what a stupid name and secondly he be better off where he is than joining Levy’s discount losers.
I am starting to wonder how much of Jose Vs Ndombele is actually Jose Vs levy on the need of a better midfield. Sacrefice an already lost season by benching a player that has talent to prove how much we need a stronger midfield? Ndombele is a talent in the ball, fitness is not hard to get back, but talent is. Maybe giving Jose more credit than he deserves, we won’t find out for sure until next season.
They wanted to leave so levy squeezed every penny out of them. How can you knock him for that? Nonsense talk
‘Daniel Levy is reputed to being one of the toughest negotiators in the game’ – where does he get this reputation from? Daniel is a tough negotiator when it comes to selling our best players. He squeezes the buying club for every last penny, they eventually get their man and go on to win trophies together ala Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale..
