Tottenham has struggled to find regular playing time for Ryan Sessegnon since they signed the Englishman from Fulham, and they might lose him to Barcelona if the latest reports are to be believed.
The 20-year-old joined Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino but the Argentinean struggled to give him regular playing time and it has been the same story under Jose Mourinho.
A new report from Spain is claiming that Sessegnon is liked by Barcelona and they are considering a move for him.
Mundo Deportivo journalist Miguel Rico via Sport witness claims that the Catalans “like” the young defender.
It claims that they want to sign him as a backup to Jordi Alba who is their current first-choice left-back.
Sessegnon is yet to make an impact at Tottenham, but he showed during his time at Fulham that he is a top talent who can deliver on the big stage.
Barcelona, however, has a problem to sort out in their bid to land him with the report claiming that they would have to move Junior Firpo on first before they can bring the Englishman in.
Firpo was signed in the summer as a backup to Alba, but he hasn’t exactly impressed the club when he has played for them.
It also begs the question, would Sessegnon swap one team where he is a back up to simply be a back up at another club?
Should try to get his brother to Tottenham
Barcelona are Spurs twin team, like us they seem to spend an inordinate amount of time being linked to thousands of players, none of whom strangely are ever signed. I’m a believer though, I can’t wait for Coutinho and Willian and Sergej Malinkovic-Savic to arrive.
