Tottenham has told Antonio Conte not to speak with the Italian media

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte spoke to different media outlets this week, where he touched on various topics regarding the task of turning around the north London club.

Conte told Sky Sports Italy that he wasn’t a fan of the January window admitting that his squad got weaker with four departures and only two arrivals. However, despite not being afraid to speak his mind, the Spurs boss is putting a muzzle on his media appearances.

During his press conference with the media, Conte revealed that the club had asked him not to speak with the Italian media, considering what he says can be lost in translation. Nonetheless, Conte states that he’s enjoying his time with Spurs.

“The club now doesn’t want me to speak to Italian media because the translation was not so clear with my thoughts,” Conte said, per The Athletic. “I always said I’m enjoying my time with Tottenham, enjoying working with these players. I always said this.

“Then we have four months at the end of this season, and we have to try to do our best to finish in the best place possible in this league. And then we’ll see.”

Conte wants to see this squad improve and have the club invest a heavy amount of money to compete with Manchester City, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

The Italian tactician might stay quiet when speaking with the media in Italy, but he won’t be afraid to say how he feels if Spurs don’t meet his demands to compete for trophies.
