Tottenham enquire about availability of Swiss international

By Bruce Grove -

Portuguese outlet, Record claims that Jose Mourinho wants to sign Benfica’s Swiss international, Haris Seferović.

The Lilywhites will sign a striker in this transfer window and the former Fiorentina man is their latest transfer target.

The report claims that Mourinho has now turned to his homeland to find a solution to his striker problems.

Spurs are reportedly proposing a loan deal with the option of signing him permanently at the end of the season.

Seferovic isn’t the most prolific striker after he scored just five times last season, however, he netted 23 goals in the 2018/2019 season and Spurs must think they can improve his strike rate.

Harry Kane remains an undisputed starter at Tottenham, but Spurs will be playing to win four competitions this season and the Englishman cannot be expected to play all those games.

Seferovic will have to deal with the strong possibility of spending time on the bench if he stays at Benfica this season after the Portuguese side signed Darwin Nunez to compete for a place in their attack.

He is just one of many strikers that Spurs have been linked to in this transfer window. It remains unclear if the Lilywhites will eventually sign him or another target.

Think of how many opponents & staff who would have been in close contact with Orient FC over the weeks since last tested and now all of their families as well are at risk.

Number of Orient players testing positive is said to be in double figures.

Testing in the lower leagues is only compulsory after internationals ,or if a player shows symptoms. It was done when the teams returned for preseason but after the clubs returned zero cv results they mostly stopped for financial reasons. Spurs to protect themselves paid for Orient to be tested and if the team hadn’t been tested for several weeks it only took one person to spread the virus throughout the club, that person could play for Orient, work at Orient or have played against Orient. The time between testing is crazy considering it won’t be compulsory again till the next international break at the end of October.Even England international players Fodan & Greenwood showed how easy and foolish it can be to socialise with outsiders and return to the camp.As for Orient even if they practised good CV restrictions they can’t guarantee their opponents are doing the same. What would have happened if it’s not compulsory to get tested if Orient had refused Spurs offer to pay for testing?Would Spurs put their staff and players at risk or would we have forfeited the tie.Now the new rules state Spurs should go through but this will be challenged and in the future will the lower league sides refuse the offer for testing unless it’s mandatory .
Spurs have a good relationship with Orient,HK is the shirt sponsor, and ex player Justin Edinburgh was their manager,we are getting positive PR for helping them financially in difficult times.

Stupid cup should be able to withdraw from it. Too many games unfair on players and families at the moment

Cost of tests to EFL clubs with little income would be considerable.

I know what you mean! I thought the same, now we need to squeeze a game in. We lose out on all fronts here.

I’m stunned that Orient were incapable of observing good CV practise and now everyone expects us to pay them off?!

Am I missing something?!
