Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing the Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish at the end of the season.
According to a report from Give Me Sport, they will face competition from Aston Villa and Newcastle United in the race to sign the 29-year-old midfielder. Grealish has not been able to live up to the expectations since the £100 million move to Manchester City, and he has been linked with an exit in recent months.
It seems that Manchester City are now prepared to cut their losses on the player. Tottenham could certainly use more depth in the midfield, and the 29-year-old could be a useful acquisition for the right price. He is capable of operating as the central attacking midfielder as well as a wide player. He will add goals and creativity to the side.
He was regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League when he joined Manchester City, but things have not gone according to plan for him with the Premier League champions. He has struggled for regular gametime, and his performances have been quite underwhelming as well.
It will be interesting to see if he can recapture his peak form. The midfielder has picked up 17 goals and 23 assists in 155 appearances for Manchester City during his time at the club. Grealish has been described as an “incredible talent” who is struggling in Manchester City’s system.
Tottenham could use Jack Grealish

Tottenham need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions, and they could use players like Grealish next season. However, they are unlikely to pay a premium for him, and Manchester City will have to be reasonable with their demands in order for the move to go through. He could compete with James Maddison for the starting spot. Alternatively, he could play in the wide areas as well.
The opportunity to return to his boyhood club, Aston Villa, could be exciting for the player as well. Similarly, Newcastle have an exciting project, and they are likely to secure Champions League qualification for the next season. It will be interesting to see where Grealish ends up.
