Tottenham have signed winger Mykhailo Mudryk and centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo from Chelsea on transfer deadline day. Mudryk joins on loan until the end of the season, with Spurs holding an option worth £75m to make the move permanent. Adarabioyo has completed a permanent move worth up to £12m.

The completed transfers were reported by BBC Sport on 1 September 2026, after an earlier report on the proposed moves. Adarabioyo is Tottenham’s 10th signing of a summer in which the club has spent more than £300m on transfers. The arrivals follow back-to-back 17th-place Premier League finishes for Spurs.
Who are Tottenham’s two Chelsea arrivals?
Mudryk, 25, is a Ukraine international who previously worked with Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi at Shakhtar Donetsk before joining Chelsea in 2023 for an initial £61m. He scored 10 goals and supplied 11 assists in 73 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea. He has not played a competitive match since November 2024, although he returned in a pre-season friendly against Juventus in Hong Kong.
Adarabioyo, 28, joined Chelsea from Fulham in the summer of 2024 and made 70 appearances for the club. He will replace Kevin Danso at Tottenham following Danso’s loan move to Sunderland.
Why Spurs wanted the double deal
De Zerbi’s previous work with Mudryk at Shakhtar reunites the manager with the winger. De Zerbi said Mudryk has the speed and ability in one-v-one situations to change a game, while adding that Tottenham will work to help him find his best form.
Adarabioyo said that De Zerbi’s preferred style of football is a good fit for his game. The defender also said he wants to help push Tottenham towards where the club deserves to be.
The route to deadline day
Chelsea had held talks with Leeds and rejected at least one offer for Mudryk before Spurs entered the race late. Tottenham had previously failed in attempts to sign Iliman Ndiaye and Cody Gakpo. Mudryk was left out of Chelsea’s Premier League victories over Fulham and Brighton, as well as the Carabao Cup win against Luton.
Outlook
Mudryk can return to competitive football after the Football Association resolved anti-doping disciplinary proceedings in July 2026. He accepted breaking anti-doping rules while maintaining that he had never knowingly or intentionally taken a banned substance. Tottenham’s loan agreement includes the £75m permanent option for Mudryk, while Adarabioyo’s move is worth up to £12m.
