Tottenham and Italian giants tipped to complete a cut-price summer transfer deal

By Bruce Grove -

Danny Rose’s future at Tottenham is almost certainly over after his recent troubles and the club’s willingness to ship him out on loan to Newcastle United.

Once one of the best left-backs in Europe, Rose will now look to continue his career elsewhere and there seems to be a willing taker outside of England.

Corriere Dello Sports is reporting that Italian giants Lazio is interested in making the England international their left-back.

The Italians are preparing for a return to the Champions League after having had a successful campaign this season.

They are still battling for the Italian league title, but they know that they would have to strengthen their team if they want to make a statement in Europe next season.

They have identified Rose as an experienced left-back that can help them according to the same report.

Rose has played in the Champions League for a number of seasons and the 30-year-old would be available for a cut-price deal as he has just a year left on his current contract at Tottenham.

The report claims that Rose would cost the Italians as little as 5.5 million euros and would most likely represent an upgrade to the likes of Jordan Lukaku, Senad Lulić and Jony Rodriguez.

He hasn’t been happy since his mate Walker got a transfer, massive wages and a draw full of medals. He has been right in most things he’s said, but no one forced him into a 5 year deal and he’s a footballer, not a social commentator. He should have shut his mouth and stuck to playing. Dembele and Eriksen got out and are on massive money, Verts is next. Poor Danny will be shopping in Oxfam before we know it!

And I for one don’t blame him bruv… Better to be honest, upfront and truthful.. Rather than have no kahunas whatsoever.. Everything he said was right, it was just unfortunate he went to the sun journos with it 😆

£4m profit on Rose is good business if Levy can get it across the line.

I say get him out. Unfortunately he’s a rotten apple now. He used to be one of my favourite players too. Things have turned for him and he’s bitter now. He needs to get his head down and concentrate on his football. Good luck to him but not at Spurs.

You take what you can but 5.5m youros is cheap as. Levy the master negotiator allows our players to leave for peanuts. Rose might not be everyone’s cup of tea but we’ve missed him. Not as though getting him out on loan has improved morale either! Be interesting who we start as FBs next season because Davies and Aurier are back ups at best.
