According to Alex Crook, Spurs haven’t given up on signing Pau Torres suggesting they have come up with a new negotiation strategy.
According to him, they’ll now hope to tempt Villareal by using Giovani Lo Celso as a bargaining chip as they hope to negotiate a player plus cash deal.
Crook told GIVEMESPORT:
“I was told that there is definitely interest in Pau Torres which brings Lo Celso into play in terms of some kind of part exchange deal.”
If they manage to pull this off, they’ll not only be signing a world-class center-back which is just what Conte needs right now in order to play the system he prefers. Plus, it would also help them off-load Lo Celso, a player they are looking to sell this summer. Tottenham’s fans have good reason to be excited about this.
There is a feeling that Conte’s spending isn’t over just yet, and if our performance against Sevilla was anything to go by, that’s good news.

Deals like this would make perfect sense, which in real terms means they have no chance of happening.
Lo Output is a good bargaining chip he is wanted in Spain maybe we could throw in an extra Donkey and £30m to sweeten the deal.
Going to be fun at training on Tuesday when the boys from Brazil (etc) return to meet up with the boys from Losertown the latter will be feeling hard done by.
This idea was hiding in plain sight all the time……give me strength Lord
ha ha .
Fascinating
“ New negotiation strategy” Like pay the asking price you mean ?
Surprised you are referencing a pre season friendly during a very heavy training schedule as an indication of our form
i would get this deal done and then make everton an offer they cant refuse for gordon and we are ready for the new season
We are clearly NOT interested in Torres, as he has been for sale all Summer and we have had Lo Celso as a bargaining chip, yet we made no move for him. Instead, with our top two targets for LCB, Bastoni and Gvardiol, not available, we elected to go for Lenglet on loan.
Spurs could use LoCelso in any deal for Torres.Who would have thought.Alex Crooks must be a football genius to come up with that line.
Every ‘good’ signing that we make is a prelude to that signing we must make , that playmaker who will be in the ” Eriksen , De Bruyne , Thiago
camp , the one’s that excite with their vision .
They’re just not that easy to come by , are they ? But the players we are signing right now is a indication of intent and that ‘special one ‘ , he’s out there somewhere , lurking……………who is it I wonder ????
The Boss will find him ………. C O Y S !!!!!!!
Still think we are lacking creativity…but a solid base always helps
