Three other European teams looking to sign Tottenham outcast

By Bruce Grove -

One player that has suffered a major snub from Jose Mourinho this season has been Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombian started the campaign as a first-choice centre-back at the club, however, he has now fallen down the pecking order and even summer signing, Joe Rodon is ahead of him now.

As he continues to be left out of the first-team picture, he has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the next transfer window.

AC Milan was believed to be the team that is leading the race for his signature with almost no competition for them earlier in the week.

However, the latest report on his future claims that he is wanted by three other teams including one of Tottenham’s Premier League rivals.

Fichajes.net claims that Milan is looking to rescue him from his present Tottenham predicament by taking him on loan with a view to making the deal permanent.

However, the former European champions are not the only team looking to sign him and they will face competition from Liverpool, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

The report claims that all those teams have suffered from problems at the back this season, and they see him as a player that can help them solve that.

Can’t see the lad improving enough to be in a title chasing team. He’s had long enough and all he’s got going for him really is his pace, which was useful in Poch style team where so many players committed to the attack, but now with a more conservative, defensive approach he’s not an asset anymore. More a liability especially facing his own goal. Sell and bring in Skriniar.

Oh please. Sanchez is a liability. His first touch is shocking. His passes go to the opposition. The team is nervous when he plays. He always gives away pointless fouls when there is no need. He was younger, showed a lot of promise and talent but unfortunately for him and us, he has never progressed and lost confidence. A loan spell might help but I haven’t seen anything to suggest he is much more than a mildy better Titus bramble.

Winks is good for England but doesn’t suit our style. The reason we lost the final, well many reasons but he started Kane, we are/were shit when teams sit back and deep and have no movement or creativity. At least Jose has the balls to let the opposition push forward to create space for our attacks. I blame poch rather than winks. Moura got us to the final and the thanks he got was seat on the bench.

But if you look for cause and effect, without that, we wouldn’t be where we are now. So perhaps it wasn’t all bad even if it hurt a bit.

Davies is the model professional agreed. But reliable on the pitch he is not. Anyone with pace gives him problems. The guys even struggling in the ropey recently.. Antwerp and Ludogrets he was shocking. He’s a sub par prem player. Sanchez can be forgiven for mistakes against these ropey teams, but Davies and Winks are older and in their prime. Those two are fighting for their places at the club now. Maureen will want to constantly improve the squad so expect those weaker links to be pushed out.. We’re not winning titles with those two starting. Winks in that champions league final was one reason why that was doomed. He’s tom caroll in disguise mate.

Davies has a versatility that is truly useful. He is a consummate professional, never complains about minutes, does everything for the team. That’s a sort of glue that is truly difficult on which to put a monetary value. At least to me. Reguilon is certainly the stronger option to start, but Davies is a great backup, a versatile option for CB, and a good chemistry man.

I would like to see Winks developed at the 8 box-to-box behind Sissoko. I think he could play pretty well there. Just don’t put him at the 6. He has no instinct for a straight DM spot. Watching him play there just marking useless space absolutely makes me itch.

I would like to see Sanchez make it, but his mental game and focus needs some work. He certainly has the physical attributes. Jose is working on him, and I don’t think Spurs would sell him until Jose senses no future for him.

Going on his stats Sanchez is 15th out of our 22 used. Though he’s flapped at times hes not terrible he’s below Gio and above Davies… Winks and Deles stats are awful. And although Coco is quite high in 11th, I would be looking to sell him too, those injuries aren’t going to vanish now at his age. If he wasn’t injured all the time I would keep.. The problem with selling Winks and Dele is we would need English because of homegrown rule. In an ideal world recall Skipp and buy Grealish…. Winks Dele and Pammy are all cup tied though so not attractive for potential suitors.. Davies I wouldn’t mind replacing too.. I can’t see anyone leaving in Jan bar Winks. All nice lads and I’m being cut throat really. But it’s a brutal business.

I was adamant we needed a CB but look at us now, least goals conceded in the league, i feel if we can sell sanchez why not buy a DM. A lot is spoken about two in each position, if PEH wen’t down I’m unsure who would fill his spot

I would keep Sanchez. He’s still young with time to learn… Strange there’s alot of AC Milan links recently. Both ways. I’m not sure a player has ever transferred between the clubs. Not exactly a close relationship between us.
