Wild Claim Made That Spurs Talisman Will Soon “seriously injure someone”

By The Boy -

Pay heed to my words friends – Tottenham at the top of the table has caused a disturbance in the top four force, and we ought to prepare ourselves for plenty more nay saying. The message from English football has been pretty clear in the last few days, ‘you don’t belong here’.

First we had Graeme Souness and Jamie Redknapp (whose wife left him) seeking to undermine the manner in which we won the North London Derby, and now we have some old Everton player (Kevin Ratcliffe) suggesting to The Sun that Harry Kane is deliberately collapsing on opponents, and so far has sought to buy fouls against Arsenal’s Gabriel, West Ham’s Creswell, and Brighton’s Lallana.

Let me be clear how I feel about all of this nonsense. I love it. For the first time since the 1980s, Spurs are playing like men, opposed to perfumed mice, and until the officials, implementing the laws of the game feel a genuine need to get involved, then all our critics can whistle. We’re not thugs, we’re not Stoke, and all I hear is disingenuous whining. Wipe your eyes.

Facts.. No disrespect to Danny he was a great player. Invented the wall too. But he was playing 70 years ago. In black and white. With cannonballs and basic tactics… And he is dead.. I’m much more bothered about the likes of Harry Kane. Who is blossoming once again, and thank fcuk has bought into Maureens tactics and mentality, like the majority of players… I have zero respect for you because you’re a pessamistic 🔔🔚 who claims to be a supporter but spend all your time moaning like an old bag.. Try looking up the definition of the word ‘supporter’….. Tw@t

How are you following a winning tradition if you aren’t winning anything. It’s nonsensical….. Back in the 60s defenders were defenders mate. They barely came 10 yards off their penalty areas… These days tactics are far deeper. Full backs bombing forward etc.. It’s a different game now.

Here we go again. More nonsense.. And Botch Botch Botch.. I bet you mastercry yourself to sleep every night over photos of him….. Make stuff up? Like what? You can’t answer anything properly, just keep churning out Botchs achievements, which are minimal considering he won nothing at all. You’re repeating yourself constantly about your beloved Botch, stuff we all got over 12 months ago. He’s long gone, get over him. I don’t moan about Botch, he’s irrelevant. Great coach, but poor manager.. I’ve never been at a club for 6 years and won nothing at all, that would have been disastrous… Mr Chelsea? Do you dislike Jimmy Greaves too for his Chav days?.. Yeah you stick to the highlights, and try and get behind the team for once, we’re called supporters.. All my life I’ve found every aspect of the game fascinating, from the mind games and psychology, to the coaching, all the tactics, goalkeeping, defending, attacking… Its a war out there, not a ballerina contest… You stick to your highlights and strictly come dancing ..

I have never once said that I am unhappy with being top of the league or winning matches. Only the manner in which it is being done, but I guess that’s illegal now is it?

The people who haven’t served the club well have been our successive owners. It’s got nothing to do with bringing in a defensive coach to finally win something.

Klopp won everything with Liverpool playing attack minded football because their owners Fenway backed him fully.

There is no correlation between winning and playing defensively, no matter how much people try to justify it. Zero evidence, in fact relegation fodder generally play more like this than winners, it’s just Jose has made it work with better quality players over the years. Fair enough, not for me though…

Any decent manager will tell you….Forwards win matches, DEFENDERS wins titles!

You’re not ENTIRELY happy THFC are top of PL, 5 clean sheets (most), 3rd highest scorers, 9 goals conceded (lowest), best goal difference, etc – yes we all get it, but the MAJORITY are, so….
Suck it up, buttercup!

I’ve answered him and shall continue to fly in the face of dull opinion, as and when I see fit.

Making stuff up about what Poch did or didn’t do in the transfer market, Refusing to acknowledge that our net spend was 17th in the league during his time and the wage budget was 7th highest. Almost 100m per season lower than Arsenal’s etc.

For two seasons we had an excellent defensive record too, without letting the oppo have the ball for most of the game in order to defend well.

You and one or two others have a constant blind spot (conveniently) to these facts and therefore are making up some kind of reality that didn’t exist. Just so you can slate his record to justify Mr Chelsea’s presence at the club perhaps? I don’t know or care.

I moan… You moan all the time about our last manager and that’s alright though innit?

I think Jose is doing a very good job and so are the players and I’m happy with the winning but I don’t like defensive football.

I’ll just watch the highlights and you lot can marvel at the low block for 75 mins of every match…

They aren’t reading what I’ve written because they don’t have a rational response.. I’m not saying that winning playing defensively is terrible thing. I’m saying that it isn’t the kind of approach I want to see my team take, and I’m hardly the only one am I ffs!

While Liverpool and Bayern (as just two recent examples) are able to dominate playing attacking football, there’s no rational reason why I should subscribe to defensive football purely in the name of ‘winning’…

Exactly… Banging on about Blanchflower back when tvs were black and white, balls weighed 10 tonne, on shocking pitches… Watch any game back then and the defence all stayed back! They were very defensive with basic tactics… These people banging on about traditions are clutching at straws.. Spursy are all we have been for multiple generations now….. Easty is a sourpuss mate, he whinges and moans and whines like an old women on a constant basis. The glass is always half full for some. He does take it to a whole new level though, churning out the same opinion like spam, and talking to people like muppets when they disagree with him… He’s older than 40, he must be to moan like he does. Not really MiT. I’ve not once said that I’m not enjoying winning and people are free to enjoy what they like. I’m also at liberty to do the same.

My main point is the idea that seems to be proliferating a SPURS blog (of all blogs) is that playing the game the ‘right’ way is now suddenly totally irrelevant.

I use the most recent examples of Liverpool and Bayern as teams that have won the biggest prizes and dominated playing in a style that is the the polar opposite of what Jose is doing.

It’s this idea that in some way we’ve all been missing the point since Bill Nic that I find most nauseating. That if only we’d
have been this defensive minded and we could have won more over the years.

This is total garbage, winning is about backing the right manager with a common goal. This is generally achieved with the team in question playing on the front foot.

Did Liverpool or Bayern have 25% possession at home in their campaigns last season? Did they f*ck… While attacking football remains the most viable way to win stuff, I’m gonna want that as a Spurs fan over this. All day long.

Credit to Jose and the players for a job well done, we are winning lots of matches at the moment. I will never enjoy the way it’s being achieved.

I also find the change of heart by so many Spurs fans, prepared to embrace this boring brand football and actually wax lyrical about it, more than just little bit hypocritical.

Enjoy the winning sure, enjoy 25% of the ball at home? F*ck that…

Kane is a clean player. He goes in hard and aggressive but he always goes for the ball.. Kane himself gets hacked down repeatedly every game. Shaka could have damaged him last time out. Kane is a striker so usually has the ball, he’s far more likely to get hurt himself…… Football is dangerous, collisions at pace, serious injuries have always happened. People have died on the pitch but because of heart failure/defect, this could have happened anywhere. Pretty sure Kane won’t be killing anyone soon.

All the ‘traditions’ etc don’t mean anything when you don’t win titles, trophies, etc but if it’s of no consequence to you, fine. It IS to the majority!

why delete the 3 f.a cups? dont understand why u wrote that….im neither happy unhappy or embarrassed by what we have won ..or failed to win..but i AM happy ive been priviliged in my time to see some of the greatest players this country has produced grace the clubs shirt since 1962..and a few foreign ones too…weve played a certain way ,even the bad sides have tried to play entertaining football, something theres no fear of seeing if this present dross continues.you and others may well welcome this “football” some of us require a little more..its not all or only about winning..heres blanchflowers words..and if folk took those words on board the game would be the better for it..He made one of the best known quotes on football: “The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.” but then i guess he didnt have a clue either?

I’ve supported THFC since the end few years of Bill Nicholson’s tenure, been a season ticket holder 25 years & the ‘traditions’ haven’t served the club well, not at all.
Iyou’re happy with 3 FA cups, 2 League cups, 1 UEFA cup in FORTY years of ‘traditions’ so be it. & delete the 3 FA cups in the last THIRTY years!
I find it a bit embarrassing for a BIG club like THFC.
But finally THFC look like they’re capable of ditching the ‘Spursy’ tag – the ‘traditions’ – & seem capable of winning something!
It’s a NEW era, get involved or don’t, those of us that SUPPORT the club welcome it, WITHOUT complaint of anything.

Traditions. The Spurs way. Etc. t’s all nonsense in your head.
How old are you? What have THFC won in your lifetime, with the ‘traditions’ you mention?
I’ll guess you’re a lot younger than 40 so, in the last FORTY years; 3 FA cups, 2 League cups, 1 UEFA cup.
In the last THIIRTY years, one FA cup & 2 League cups.
That’s a tad embarrassing for a club the size & stature of THFC.
It’s SPURSY, the tag that is the equal of the ‘traditions’ you hanker for. ‘Traditions??’ Not served THFC well at all!

Welcome to the NEW era, where at least THFC look like a club capable of WINNING something!
So yes it IS, more than, ALL fine….Ta!

“attack is the best form of defense” that rings true..but “defense is the best form of attack” doesnt quite have the same ring of truth about it.
club traditions seems almost a dirty phrase on here lol but they do mean something ..ya know spurs have had some great teams following those very same traditions the poch team (for a short while) the redknapp team, burkinshaw team..now the cry will be “yeah but they never won much” maybe not ..but they gave the fans what they wanted-one hell of an entertaining ride!..now compare that to the present dross being served up .

I recall Michael Dawson getting injured in an FA Cup tie with Luton in similar circumstances where Daws jumped to head the ball and a Luton player nudged him mid air and Daws came down twisting his knee. He was out for months just after he had broke into the England team, I was gutted for him.

“That’s fine but don’t try and spin it that its actually really entertaining.”

See, that is not your subject to judge for anyone but yourself. I think that may be the crux of why many give you a hard time for repeated posts, Easty.

Sure, some do not find it entertaining, but many do. I personally find it very entertaining, simply because I’ve not seen this type of tactic played to such good effect.

I find it amazing that Spurs turned their woes around to a completely different way of winning in a year’s time…. with some of the same players who were so damaged.

It’s taught me to watch a match in a more complete manner. I truly enjoy watching the separate roles of each individual player, and it is outstanding to now recognise the counter opportunities developing before they ever take place.

The precise execution? Gravy.

Yet it seems like your goal is often to convince people who are enjoying it that they don’t. Can you see how that might grate on them ?

i dare say someone will get seriously hurt by kanes actions, same as from flying elbows, dangerous tackles from almost any player from any team.i wouldnt criticise kane for cheating ,when every other player does it too,in one way or another.and of course the hard men of todays football would quiver in fear if asked to play against the likes of tommy smith, mackay, ron harris ,peter storey and even graham roberts, and a few others. when it comes to thuggery todays players are mere “pikers”compared to those of yesteryear..and of course whereas the players ive mentioned and many more were quite open about it,they gave it and took it.whereas today the players are so sly and sneaky with it..not that i like thuggery in football, but unfortunately its the human condition…and it comes from the idea that “winning is all” no matter how its done..no doubt if a player is killed on the pitch or rather dies from injuries inflicted there..the club will put an inscription on his grave stone saying “well we won didnt we?” or “the ends justify the means”

My point is, that playing defensive football is not the only way to be a successful team. Therefore while I am happy with the fact we are winning I am quite within my rights to not enjoy the manner in which it is achieved. If you can’t process this concept, it’s not my fault is it?

As a Spurs fan I take it you’ve been yearning for defensive ‘low-block’ football for years have you? I didn’t think so…

Now you’re gong to say “yeah but I’ve been yearning for trophies innit”. To which I say, there is no reason to compromise on style for trophies. Unless you have a manager like Jose, and to that I say I’d rather a manager and chairman who stick to the traditions of the club.

I’m happy we are winning and credit to Jose and the players for that. However, I don’t like the way we are achieving these wins.

At least I’m f*cking honest about it. People like you seem to think selling your soul to the devil of defensive football is worth it.

That’s fine but don’t try and spin it that its actually really entertaining. Jose is being effective, but that’s it. 25% possession at home, just think about that and leave me to pick holes in the notion that it’s all fine… Ta.
