According to Dean Jones, Antonio Conte was “disappointed” by Tottenham on deadline day, as he expected the club to bring in one more player on the final day of the transfer window.

Spurs signed seven players in the summer including Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence, and Destiny Udogie. They also made Cristian Romero’s loan move permanent.

After Spurs qualified for the Champions League, many expected Daniel Levy to back Conte this summer. What started off as a very promising summer window, ended up being a quite an underwhelming one despite the 7 new arrivals.

Jones, believes Conte wanted another body at Tottenham. He told GIVEMESPORT:

“I mean, he’s happy with the work that was done, but those close to him definitely sense there was some disappointment they couldn’t get one more over the line.”

Spurs were linked with a host of players towards the end of the window including the likes of Daniel James, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Adama Traore, and Hakim Ziyech, however, nothing materialised on deadline day leaving Conte ‘disappointed’.

My “confidence ” is that I believe we are at last assembling a squad that looks like it has a shape or ” a philosophy” in the current wordage .
Previously we just had great individuals , players of genuine quality but no real overall team strategy . But I feel that under Conte this team is slowly moulding into his concept and WILL IMPROVE especially with better players . If we can achieve some success during the “build” , I am sure great[er] stars maybe destined for The Lane .

Sure, “forced” to sign for 60m and a big contract, CL football, best league, great Italian coach he knows.

I don’t buy that, Levy just didn’t sanction the financials as usual.

Assuming no other team buys to strengthen either, especially players we are/might be interested in.Admire your confidence Judge however much it might be misplaced.

If Bastoni moved it would have been him being forced to move, that was clear…is that really what we’d want? Players being forced to sign for Spurs 😉

I admire your enthusiasm but I wouldn’t get too excited until (if?) Conte actually signs an extension to stay on for awhile.

Everyone is on sale for the right price. And that right there tells you why a property management company should not be running a football team.

The CL brings its problems but IF , the big IF , we can navigate the early group stages , surely all our needs will have surfaced and clear requisites and buys will be made in January .

If we survive the Group stages, the opposition will then become tougher in that competition, and you believe the January window will hold answers? Blimey!

I think he’ll try again for both – but I’m not convinced either were REALLY on sale this summer.

Supported Spurs since conception [ funny how you just wake up and your a supporter = genetic ? ] . I truly have never felt this close to acquiring the status we should have achieved .
Too young to know or appreciate the double winning team , I have never felt on the precipice of greatness before , we’ve had great players , great teams , but I’ve never had a feeling like this , one of expectation . It will probably take another couple of years but I think we have been shown already that you have to build to those triumphs if they are to mean anything .
We have been occasional sunbathers [ of the ‘Glory’ ] but I honestly believe we are preparing to burst from the shadows , every thing is cyclical apparently . Its been a long time coming around but I put more importance to the management than I ever have before .
With Conte my trust is complete , he is a Champion , I believe in him . C O Y S !!!!!!!!!!

He clearly wanted Zaniolo and Bastoni. The others were just media and/or agent creations.

Things could unravel quickly if we get thumped by 2 good teams this week. The one game we played against a good team so far (Chelsea) we were badly outplayed.

Conte has no use for young players like Gil Sarr Spence and Tanganga, yet here they remain taking up roster spots.

We could hire Conte Pep Klopp and Ferguson all together and it doesn’t matter if they’re not backed as needed.

The way the media reports this , is that Conte is “disappointed” .
I dont think that is the emotion if he was truly denied a player that he wanted , if indeed they wanted to come .
Antonio is , if anything , true to himself and I think he’s bloody annoyed . We are 2 or 3 players from an amazing squad , a squad that is being geared to success in his capable hands .
Of course we have a World Cup on the horizon and providing we dont ‘blow up’ between now and then , we may be looking on the World stage for future buys . If that is the case then all is not lost .
The CL brings its problems but IF , the big IF , we can navigate the early group stages , surely all our needs will have surfaced and clear requisites and buys will be made in January . Along process but this is an unusually protracted season and I profess that my faith in Antonio is unwavering , we are still mightily on course . C O Y S !!!!!!!!!!1
