“This is a boy I think should be playing week in, week out” Pundit has his say on Tottenham outcast

By Bruce Grove -

Dele Alli has been frozen out of the Tottenham team this season as he struggles for form.

The Englishman has been a key member of the Tottenham first team for years, but he started this season poorly, and Jose Mourinho has decided to axe him.

Spurs have to win a trophy this season, and that means that all their players have to be in top form else they risk being left behind by the team.

Alli is a very talented player and he has a fine reputation around Europe, however, the Englishman cannot get into this Tottenham team as they work hard to win a trophy.

Alan Hutton was speaking to Football Insider and he told them that Dele Alli is a big talent that deserves to be playing all the time and if he cannot get that, then he will have to leave the club in the next transfer window.

Hutton told Football Insider: “It’s looking more like he has to leave, this is a boy I think should be playing week in, week out in the Premier League. Mourinho obviously doesn’t fancy him so it’s time to move on in my opinion.

“I’d be going in and saying: ‘Whoever comes in for me, if I fancy it, let me go.’ It’s as simple as that. I’d like to think he’d be aiming for a high team, I understand he has not played a lot.”

Asked if Spurs would be reluctant to let him leave to a Premier League rival, Hutton said: “They probably will be but at the end of the day, if you’re treating your asset, if you see them as being a top asset and you don’t want to sell him to a rival, why is he the 19th man? That’s what I’d be asking.

“It’s going to be a huge decision, like when we spoke about Harry Winks, he has to pick the right team, he needs to go somewhere where he’s going to play, where he’s going to be loved, and he can get back to doing what he does best.”

Where has Alan been the last year? Deles been poor and deservedly dropped. He has to perform in the ropey now before he can think about being back in the firsts. Never mind relying on him week in and week out.

Attitude wise, the writing’s been on the wall for Dele since he was a young teen. He has the talent but not the character to be top drawer. Maybe he’s undergoing a change of attitude as I write, and he’ll suddenly come good at some point soon, but I doubt he’s got it in him.

If anyone follows Hutton’s logic, all squads would only be 18 players as everyone not in the squad should or would need to move on?
Think we’d all like to see the Dele of 2015, 16 & probably 17 but he went awol & quite who would José leave out of the squad/team at present?
