“The message from Tottenham still is there is little appetite to lose the 24-year-old” Spurs still want to keep Alli claims journalist

Tottenham isn’t looking to get rid of Dele Alli, even though the Englishman hasn’t featured in the plans of Jose Mourinho so far.

The attacking midfielder has struggled to impress the Special One, and he has had to make do with a place on the team’s bench for much of this campaign.

Before the last transfer window was shut, it was already clear that Mourinho would not trust him to play for the team unless he gets better.

PSG looked to take advantage of his situation to sign him, however, the Lilywhites refused all their offers for him.

He has now remained with little football, and that doesn’t look like it will change in the second half of the season.

With the transfer window reopening next month, PSG and his other suitors are expected to come in for him again, but Mail Sport says that Spurs will still not sell him or allow him to leave on loan.

The report says that the club wants him to stay and fight for his place in the team.

Simon Jones of the Daily Mail writes: “Alli has not looked comfortable under Mourinho. But in truth, he has been out of form for 18 months, left on the bench and out of squads.

“Yet PSG were given short shrift in summer and, despite how it looks, the message from Tottenham still is there is little appetite to lose the 24-year-old even though he wants out.

“There have been no hard talks over a January move and they want Alli to stay and fight for his place, citing the renaissance of Tanguy Ndombele as an example to follow. Mourinho is not averse to changing his system should Alli rediscover his touch when opportunities arise through injuries — such as Giovani Lo Celso’s hamstring tear.”

We dont want to sell (until you offer the Covid market rate + £20m)
I like Del Boy but he wont fit JoMo’s style all the time he has a hole in his arsenal.

Not so long ago alli was talked about as a £120 million buy to clubs wanting him so can’t see dl selling for 1/3 of that and he is only 24 so still young.
