The Athletic takes stock on the future of winger Lucas Moura

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has seen the most exits from players on the backline. It could be a matter of time before another forward joins Erik Lamela on the list of departures from the English club before the summer transfer window closes.

According to The Athletic, Brazil international Lucas Moura will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer is presented to the Premier League side. However, Tottenham might not be in a rush to push the 28-year-ould out of the club.

The report further states that Moura’s impressive pre-season performances could garner another season with the London-based club. This week, the winger featured in the victory over MK Dons, where he scored a goal and an assist in the 3-1 result.

At the moment, Moura hasn’t generated much interest from other clubs in Europe, but perhaps his form heading into the 2021-22 season could have a club pondering whether to submit a proposal for the forward.

Appreciate the standard of the opposition, but he’s been the best player pre-season! Certainly retain him, especially now Lamela’s gone. Bergwijn’s still a question mark for me.

When Lucas was younger he was as highly rated in Brazilian football as Neymar.

He’s obviously talented but like a lot of talented players he can’t execute regularly at the highest level.

A completely different player but Lucas reminds me of Ross Barkley who once was the future of English football, strong, athletic bags of skill but unable to consistently impact games, Tammy Abraham is similar.

Maybe better coaches could help them.

I like Lucas, he works hard has a lot of skill and causes defences problems. I hope he stays.

At least he can head a ball while LeadBoots continues to steal a living.
If there is a worse CB pairing than The Chuckle Brothers in the PL please point them out.

Not unhappy for Lucas to leave. Unsurprising there is little interest in someone with such poor ball control.
