Spurs working hard to appoint new manager following Man Utd defeat

By Mark Brus -

Tottenham are reportedly working to appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager after the disastrous 3-0 performance at home to Manchester United yesterday.

Spurs were well-beaten by the Red Devils, with doubts likely to keep on growing over Nuno Espirito Santo, whose tactics yesterday were a far cry from what’s expected of a Tottenham manager, with fans loudly booing as Lucas Moura was substituted off despite his lively performance.

According to TMW, it now looks like Fabio Paratici is looking to Conte to rectify the situation, with the Italian outlet suggesting things could move quickly.

It’s not hard to imagine that other candidates are being looked at, and that Nuno’s days could be numbered, but one imagines the strong Conte link in this report is a little premature.

Given how badly Spurs’ managerial search went in the summer, it’s hard to believe they would have quickly got their act together to step up talks with Conte just hours after the defeat to United.

“Yeah, pretend we’re getting Conte.” Another cynical ploy from our dismal CEO.

Hasn’t Conte already – and not so very long ago at that – told Levy that the bald one’s ambitions are not aligned with his own?

I read somewhere that Conte doesn’t do mid season managerial change. On top of the other comments here I would say that this story is pure fantasy, attempted distraction. .pure b…s..t.

Who cares while enic remain the root problem will never change no matter who the manager is.

I struggle with the idea that a bloke who was not interested in the summer will be attracted by the current wreckage.

Pigs will fly before that happens…..Levy to Paratici “”Tell the news reporters that you are working on signing Conte. It will keep the fans happy””

Hahahahaha. What has changed since the summer. Conte is no fool and knows that ENIC provide little financial backing. Why would he come?
