Spurs Insider rips Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso for their recent form

By Eddie Razo -

This season two of the more criticized players on the Tottenham Hotspur squad have been Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

The two midfielders were at the forefront of Spurs insider John Wenham’s criticism, stating to Football Insider that the two provided little and didn’t allow Harry Kane to rest in their FA Cup match against Morecambe.

Kane came onto the pitch in the 69th minute with Spurs still 1-0 down last weekend. Wenham was furious that Kane couldn’t rest ahead of their League Cup semi-final match against Chelsea, which they lost 1-0.

“The embarrassing lack of desire and application from those certain players in the squad, people like Ndombele and Lo Celso, are causing this,” Wenham said.

“They don’t create, so we have to turn to Kane, who probably wasn’t expecting to play. That’s just another way these players are damaging Kane and the squad. It’s so annoying.”

Ndombele is now a player that Tottenham wants to offload this month; however, his wages make it difficult for any club to take on the player. Various clubs have expressed interest in the 25-year-old but then are turned off by his salary and how much financial responsibility they have to assume.

Meanwhile, Lo Celso hasn’t seen his name much in the rumor mill, but these next six months could be crucial if he wants to remain part of manager Antonio Conte’s project.

If only they were truly worth 120 mill collectively! Right now they are arguably ‘worth’ only about 40/50 mill jointly and we are going to take a massive loss on the acquisition of both of them, in order to dump them. Shockingly bad scouting from Hitchen and how this cretin is still in a job beggars belief.

We lost something valuable when we lost Mitchell; haven’t made too many useful signings since.

Two different cases but some similarities.

Gio is a bad fit for Conte as he’s a typical Argy that like to run around and slide tackle and doesn’t work well in a disciplined system. But he’s trying to make it work somehow and maybe Conte can find a role for him.

Tanguy also doesn’t fit in a rigid system and he clearly has no desire to defend. It’s said that when Tanguy plays at his best we’re a man up on offense and a man down on D. Clearly he has no role in a Conte setup.

These two players are worth 120m collectively. Bad scouting and a bad transfer policy which has followed two seasons of transfer inertia.

Tanguy has everything apart from fitness, & work rate.. lo celso has nothing at all. I reckon between them we’re looking at the comedy equivalent of Cannon & Ball….
