Tottenham’s match against Wolfsberger AC in the Europa League next week has been moved from Austria to Hungary.
The Lilywhites were expected to play their Austrian hosts at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, but covid restrictions in the European nation has changed that and the match will now be played at the new Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary, the club has reported on their website.
Spurs have been one of the favourites for the Europa League this season, but now that other teams have dropped into the competition from the Champions League, their chances of winning it will be slimmer.
Nevertheless, Wolfsberger is an opponent that they should be able to see off regardless of where the game is being played.
They are currently 6th on the Austrian league table and they have won two and lost two of their last four matches in all competitions.
Spurs, on the other hand, will face Manchester City this weekend in a game that they need to get a result from to keep their top-four hopes alive.
City is in top form, but Spurs beat them 2-0 in the reverse fixture and a similar performance in this game could see them end the Citizens’ fine unbeaten run.
I’ll have to rebook my flights now!!!
