“He should feel like an idiot and embarrassed” These Fans Have Completely Had It With A So-Called Spurs Ace

By The Boy -

Gareth Bale’s return to Tottenham has rapidly descended into farce, with José Mourinho’s latest comments have revealing Bale to be somewhat of a duplicitous character. At the ripe old age of 31, and with a representative such as Jonathan Barnett in charge of his professional affairs, it really is a struggle to imagine how anyone could possibly spin this sorry business another way.

Real Madrid’s Zinedine Zidane worked out the trajectory Bale was on, once the Welshman’s talents began to wane. And now José Mourinho is finally on the same page. Terms like ‘busted flush’ frequently hurled about in such circumstances, but who is going to mount a case in Bale’s favour? This is a player basking in over £1million a month in wages, that has been laughing and smirking publicly, but within the confines of Hotspur Way, it has been a whole different story.

I take a view that Bale and Barnett have it within their gift to stop this madness. Will they?

Then I’ll make my exit. Just a friendly word of advice – in charge or not, you try that with the wrong person and you will end up being hit with a defamation suit. And you’ll lose. If logic and common sense aren’t enough to wake you up, maybe your wallet is the way to make you back down. Cheerio

Nothing to do with his physical condition then? Just being fat and lazy?

I feel that’s a massive over simplification, he can’t get fit. How does anyone actually know if he’s ‘lost interest’ or if it’s having any direct impact on his fitness. It is most likely a purely physiological issue, but I guess that’s not controversial enough…

I’m sure he didn’t, however personally I don’t feel Jose isn’t picking him to spite Levy or Bale himself. He just obviously can’t get his physical condition up.

From what Jose has been saying, Bale wasn’t responsible for the social media post saying he’d had ‘good session’. This looks like mischief on the part of whoever manages his social media. I take it a PR/management company probably trying to gloss over his fitness issues in an attempt to keep his stock high.

Bale is obviously struggling fitness wise but perhaps let’s not be too quick to demonise the boy, as if he’s blatantly taking the p*ss out of us.

As I’ve said before, social media is the greatest negative force the human race has confronted since the Black Death.

The reaction on here and elsewhere from fans taking this and building a narrative around Bale being nothing more than a disrespectful a*sehole has been quite worrying. Jose doesn’t look angry with him to me, frustrated by the situation sure, who isn’t?

You raise an important point here – why would he risk burning is legend status at Spurs when, assuming he isn’t bothered anymore, he could have stayed in sunny Spain, carry on picking up his 600k per week; and focus on perfecting his short game. I’m not saying he doesn’t deserve the criticism he’s getting, but the whole debacle just makes no sense

Bergwijn has those Defensive Winger qualities that suits JM’s strategy quite well. Bale doesn’t track back or fight for the ball so well. To move from bench to starter Bale has to make a real difference in terms of final play (which used to be his strength) – dribble past opposition players and deliver a cross… make key passes to Kane or Son… deliver stunning goals from free kicks, etc.

Look at it this way, Bale is a loan deal at the end of the day.

His wages are huge but despite conflicting reports, we can afford them. With Bale on board, we are still paying about 50m a year less on wages than Arsenal, for example.

I couldn’t give a toss about how much his wages are, I’m more concerned that the whole debacle isn’t benefitting the team. Levy is the ‘mastermind’ apparently, let him sort out the financials because that’s what he’s there for. He should keep his nose out of the football, he’s a clown when it comes to football.

What a cock up… And on another note we have the second best defence in the league! Proof right there H that stats may not lie, but they certainly don’t tell the whole truth either.. Second best my arse, we are shaky to put it kindly.

I think Jose saw it immediately and ZZ already knew it. Levy’s been done like a second hand car dealer does a mug punter

It’s my theory that his first love now is golf. It’s that where he sees his sporting future.

I think he’s targeting a place on the European Tour. PGA is a big ask but ET is achievable.

white flag waving and all but a question – who else is there to compare to in the Spurs squad? No-one is going to compare Bale to Son and the only other two players playing in those front positions are Moura and Bergwijn…neither of whom are white. I think you’re seeing racism where none is present

I have to admit I thought Zidane was sidelining him out of some personal grudge and was delighted when we brought him back. No matter what’s happening now, RM fans have treated him like crap, so I was also happy that he was getting 600k per week out of that club. It’s a different story now when a lot of the money comes out of Spurs’ pockets.

If he can’t rediscover his hunger here, where everyone loves him, he probably can’t do it, period.

The starry and dewy eyed Spurs fans that love GB and hate Jose will see this as down to Jose because he has ‘form for it’ will have them wetting their preverbal nappies with delight.

These are the fans who thought lord of darkness Levy had pulled off of a master stroke getting monkey boy back in a Spurs shirt. Not realising that he’d long since lost interest in football something Zizi sussed months before. Those rose tinted glasses ain’t no use when it comes to the business end of the deal.

His fitness – or lack thereof – is the issue and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Whenever he plays, it’s a cameo from the bench or an hour in the starting lineup, after which he always seems to tweak something. Likely a psychological thing – he doesn’t trust his body 100%, which is a very bad thing for any sportsman, but at 600k per week, you should probably try to do something about it.

It is frustrating but in the few games he played, he didn’t really set the world alight – plus whenever you start him, you know you will probably have to sub him off, leaving you with just two subs to change things around tactically.

All in all, he shouldn’t be playing at the moment. Sad, but unfortunately it is what it is.

According to my wife, I sound more and more of an old git every day that passes. However, I don’t remember prima-donnas like this in the 70s and 80s. Played for passion then.

If we’re honest, the whole thing is a bit of a mystery but we can probably assume that he hasn’t been impressing in training, same with Dele.

I feel Bale has tarnished his reputation irreparably with the Spurs fans. If he didn’t give a toss, why not stay at RM, pick up their cash and piss off Zidane. Such a shame as he was truly world-class back in the day.

Didn’t Redknapp say he had to make him play through injuries when he took over? The boyo needs a glass of ‘man the f*** up’

It’s not going to happen but I would like to see Bale start a few games in a row, if he’s terrible then haul him off. I honestly don’t think anyone has seen him play enough minutes to make a rational judgement about what he might be able to do on the pitch.

If this is about form in training etc (which seems to be the case) then he won’t get picked but saying he’s just utterly finished as a useful footballer without seeing him play is a big call. It’s a hunch. However, fitness wise he is obviously struggling…

I think you’re missing the point Jake, Bale doesn’t want a shot. He doesn’t want to play. Bale not working out, surprise surprise, no-one saw that coming, did they. Bale, Bale, Bale. In that order. Send him back asap.

Bit harsh there Harry, not sure he mentioned race. But yes Bergwijn is a young developing player and Bale is a useless has-been by all accounts.

Bale is no worse than Bergwijn, who is having one of the worst seasons in Tottenham history.

Bale deserves a shot.
