Spanish media rubs Bale’s goal in the faces of Real Madrid

Tottenham signed two players from Real Madrid in the last transfer window and both players combined to score Tottenham’s winner on Sunday against Brighton in the Premier League.

Sergio Reguilon was signed permanently from Los Blancos for £25million, while Gareth Bale joined on loan for the rest of the season.

Both players had been unwanted by Real, with Reguilon spending last season on loan at Sevilla, while Bale struggled to play for the team.

Los Blancos will have felt relieved that they managed to get some of Bale’s wages of their bill, but on Sunday after he scored his first Premier League goal for Spurs, the Spanish media couldn’t help but rub it on the Spanish side’s face.

Bale had been accused of not immersing himself in the Spanish culture, but when he scored at the weekend he yelled out ‘Vamos! in perfect Spanish.’, according to Marca.

The report also pointed out that Bale and Reguilon played together on almost 20 occasions for Madrid and they never combined for a goal.

Mundo Deportivo also made some remarks about the game one of which was that Bale ‘celebrated the goal with enthusiasm after a difficult time in his career.’

Bale will now look to score even more goals for Spurs and help them win a trophy this season.
