It is looking increasingly likely that today will only see Tottenham players depart North London as opposed to any coming in.
The latest Spurs player to be linked with a transfer deadline move is Japhet Tanganga, according to journalist James Benge.
The 21-year-old has not quite kicked on this season under Jose Mourinho and despite the ongoing issues at the back for Spurs, the youngster appears to be seen as surplus to requirements.
If this move does happen it may not be such a bad thing, it will enable him to get some regular Premier League football under his belt and further his development, which is good for Tottenham as they may get a more improved player back at the end of the loan spell.
No doubt there will be a few twists and turns yet before the transfer window shuts and it would not be a huge surprise if another club comes in for Tanganga. But as things stand right now, it is the Saints that look to be in pole position.
He would also be reunited with Kyle Walker-Peters and that may play a part in persuading Tanganga that a move to the south coast is worthwhile.
He’s been injured a fair amount this season, which is holding him back.
He really should be getting a chance at left back with the injury situation.
