“Sensational” Tanguy Ndombele Won’t Get A Better Reference Than That Of This All-Time Tottenham Great

By Joe Fish -

Tanguy Ndombele’s first season at Tottenham has divided opinion.

Is he a Premier League gem in the making or is he a useless lump?

Well, when it comes to spotting a midfielder, I’m happy to take the word of Glenn Hoddle. The Spurs legend told Premier League Productions that we have a “sensational” player on our hands whom Jose Mourinho has to find a place for in the team or risk him fulfilling his potential elsewhere.

Hoddle told Premier League Productions, quotes relayed by The Express: “Ndombele, I think there’s a player in there, he’s [Mourinho] got to find that. Whether he’s gone too far with that lad, and they won’t get him back as a player, I don’t know. But I truly believe there’s a player in there waiting to come out. If he moved on i think he would be sensational somewhere.”

Ndombele only started three of Tottenham’s previous 11 matches prior to lockdown and was substituted in all of them, with Mourinho publicly shaming the Frenchman to Sky Sports after the 1-1 draw with Burnley.

However, Football London’s Alasdair Gold reports that Mourinho has been thrilled with the 23-year-old’s attitude and work ethic during the break, and with Dele Alli banned, there is every chance he will start on Friday against Manchester United and hopefully start the journey to proving Hoddle right.

The great negotiator, Levy, got his pants pulled down here. When we signed Janssen he was a one season wonder, but £17m was still way too much to pay. Ndombele was far from consistent in France, he had one good season and Aulas probably couldn’t believe the offer. For the fee and the wages the fans deserve better.

I just read the lad is on 9th highest wage in the league. On a par with kane at 200k a week.. Crazy paying an unproven french lad top dollar in our division.

If he cost 25mil like lo celso then it wouldnt be so bad.. But club record signing 🤦‍♀️ Can’t really blame the lad himself for his price tag, have to look at levy and the scouts.. Theres just no excuse for not running and having no effort though is there. 150k odd a week as well.

I don’t think his first season has divided opinion. He’s been rubbish, irrespective of
any difficulties he’s had. The odd glimpse here and there has not been good enough.
There is indeed a player there, but there was one in Adel Taarabt, is in Marcus Edwards.
Consistency is needed and if his fitness has improved this will help no end. Big game
on Friday for this lad, we need him to step up.

Glenn knows his stuff.. I seriously doubt the lad has the mentality though to ever become consistent.. Prove me wrong Ndombom my son.. Managing 90 minutes back to back would be a start. A run of ten games in as many weeks should be easy for a pro… And run your socks off.. He will never win over the majority of fans plodding about same pace as llorente or mertesacker looking like he should be jogging alongside his gran in the local park… Sissoko will never be the greatest, but hes become a good player, and the fans love him dearly simply because he runs like forrest gump and never stops trying.. Ndombele should take a leaf out of moussa sissokos book.
