For weeks now, maybe even months, we have been lead to believe that Christian Eriksen could be on his way back to Tottenham after a miserable time in Italy.
In fact, even today some of the tabloids reckon that a deal is still possible, well, the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano has made it clear in a tweet that Eriksen is going absolutely nowhere.
Now, Mr Romano is not infallible, he does make the odd error, however, out of all the dross we are fed on a daily basis he is at least fairly reliable, especially when it comes to Italian news.
To be honest, this is a good thing, in my opinion, Eriksen really is not a Jose Mourinho type of player and I fear that if he is brought back it would be just another Gareth Bale situation.
Obviously, the media will still push this one all day long and no doubt some Spurs fans will hold out hope that a deal will be done but unless Romano has got this one horribly wrong then you can forget about Eriksen pulling on a Tottenham shirt once again.
Just saw his interview where Fabrizio says apart from Dele the players are all happy and ready to fight for Tottenham. This is an interview given after last night’s debacle.
