“Rock. Keep it going now” Highly criticised Tottenham man applauded after Burnley performance

By Bruce Grove -

Davinson Sanchez was one of the stars of the show as Tottenham beat Burnley 4-0 yesterday and some Spurs fans have praised him while asking him to keep it going.

The Colombian has had a mixed start to the season and has had spells on the bench because he failed to convince Jose Mourinho that he can play.

He is still working his way into being the permanent first choice at Spurs, but his performance against Burnley will have helped his cause.

Spurs needed to be at their best to beat a Burnley side that has enjoyed some fine results in this campaign.

The Clarets have beaten Liverpool and Arsenal away from home this season and there was always a chance that it could happen to Spurs.

Jose Mourinho’s men had to prove a point by winning after losing to West Ham in their previous league game.

Sanchez contributed his quota in a very interesting game and he celebrated it after the match.

The Colombian took to his Twitter account to rave about the win and keeping a clean sheet.

Clearly impressed, some Tottenham fans took to the social media post to comment, here are some:

Sorry. But its March now. Can you do it against the big boys? You have been here a few years now , & you should have grown in stature. Can you do it week in week out?

He played so well because behind him was the best and most experienced defender Toby Alderweireld that is why he shined but what do I know Jose will field next game with Dier and mess all over again.

I think at the moment our best team is,

Lloris,
Aurier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Reguilon,
Hojbjerg, Ndombele,
Bale, Dele, Son,
Kane.

I’d love to see this team Start in the League Cup Final and against Arsenal.

Although we need some major surgery in the summer on our back four.
Two class centre half’s, a right back and a new keeper, would improve this squad no end.

A good day all round. On another note, there was a question on Only Connect last night about Christian Gross, now that is just weird.
