Rival boss comments on rumours his team wants Dele Alli

By Bruce Grove -

Dele Alli has been struggling to play for Tottenham this season after he showed a lack of effort in the first game of the season.

In that match against Everton, he was hauled off at half time with the Lilywhites going on to lose the game.

He has hardly played for the club since and his future is now in doubt as the current starters remain impressive.

Alli was linked with a move away from Spurs in the last transfer window with several teams looking to sign him on loan so that he can see more game time.

Spurs managed to keep him in their team even though there were no guarantees that he would see a decent amount of minutes in this campaign.

Ahead of the January transfer window, he has been linked with a move away from Tottenham again, and one of the teams that have been linked is Everton, but their manager, Carlo Ancelotti has played down those rumours.

“No, it’s not true,” he said, when asked about the reported interest by Liverpool Echo.

“It’s not true. We didn’t talk about Dele Alli.

“Personally I have a lot of respect for him because he is a fantastic player.

“But, as I say, he is a Tottenham player and I don’t like to talk about this.”
