Report – Tottenham outcast set to drop down a division

By Bruce Grove -

Danny Rose is set to drop down to the Championship and make a move to Middlesbrough, Football Insider claims.

The England international has been frozen out at Tottenham and he hasn’t been given a shirt number ahead of this season.

The Lilywhites wanted a £5million fee for his sale when the international window was still open, however, they didn’t find a buyer and the report claims that they are open to letting him leave them on loan for the remaining months of his current deal.

Rose has seriously fallen from grace, no thanks in part to his big mouth.

The former Newcastle loanee has been too outspoken and he had a very bad falling out with Jose Mourinho earlier in the year.

He spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle United and the Magpies decided against making the move for the 30-year-old permanent.

Italian side, Genoa were linked with a move for him this summer, but nothing came from that either.

It seems that he will now have to deal with playing in a level below the Premier League which will not help his chances of playing for the England national team again.

If Rose shows he’s not finished this could be a shrewd move by Warnock getting an experienced player next season for free.

If he is wise Rose will seize this opportunity to not only get game time but show that there is still a player there. As long as he doesn’t labour under the misguided notion that he is entitled to an England place. That ship has sailed Danny boy.

Grab your opportunity Danny and tear up the league, then you may be able to return one day.

This could work for him , Warnock is maybe the right type of manager to revitalise his career, if he’s prepared to listen.
