Tottenham Hotspur believed they needed an upgrade at the goalkeeper position last summer when they added Pierluigi Gollini. Still, the Italian international hasn’t played much this season and will be exiting when his loan deal expires next month.
Furthermore, Spurs extended Hugo Lloris until 2024, so it seems as though the north London club won’t be in the market for a shot-stopper; however, talkSPORT reports that Tottenham and Newcastle United are one of the clubs keen on Everton’s Jordan Pickford.
Everton is in a relegation battle, and if The Toffees do indeed go down to The Championship or even if they survive, Pickford could be ready for a new chapter in his career.
Nonetheless, it’s hard to imagine Pickford joining Spurs since it, at best, would be a split situation with Lloris and with the World Cup coming up in Qatar, and both want to be in top form heading into the tournament.
Both players want to be the starter to prepare for the competition; it’s hard envisioning Tottenhamd spending money for Pickford.
This keeps cropping up.
Don’t see it myself imagine what he would cost even if they go down.
Pickford has never been a keeper in which I employ the greatest trust .
For that reason alone I feel that he will be the man between the sticks if Everton fall.
Spurs – and goalkeepers especially – are somewhat drawn to the eccentric types , Hugo being the absolute star of the show .
There is an air of inevitability here…………………..
