Report: Tottenham Hotspur revisiting its interest in Wolves star

This past summer, Tottenham Hotspur was linked to Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traore. Spurs wanted to reunite the Spain international with his old boss Nuno Espírito Santo, who went to north London.

Despite firing the Portuguese tactician a few months into the 2021-22 season, Tottenham remains interested in Traore. According to John Percy in the Telegraph, Spurs are revisiting their interest in the 25-year-old.

Furthermore, they could have Traore for a lower price than what they would have had to pay for back in the summer. The report states that Wolves are considering proposals of more than £20-million for Traore in January.

Traore is under contract until 2023, so this month might be the ideal time to sell and get the most for him rather than wait until the summer and lower their price again for him.

In 19 appearances this season, Traore has yet to score a goal or register an assist for Wolves. Nonetheless, Tottenham isn’t alone in their reported pursuit for the Wolves forward as West Ham United is also eyeing him.

What is it about Wolves wingbacks? I’m hoping this fella is an improvement on Doherty… 🤔

He will fit in nicely. Aside from his pace, he can’t deliver a ball for love nor money. Just like Doherty, Reg and Royal.

Interesting as a wing back, but yeah, after watching his cameo against Man U then not convinced, but at least he might be more inclined to try to carry the ball into the box rather than just hopefully punt it in from distance.

Just what we need another player who can’t score or assist.

He is a speedy Moussa Sissoko..if accuracy of pass , cross, and finishing ability are required in theory he is not what we require.
Then compared to our transfer committee, Gonna Cullen, Steve Hitchenaride and Daniel I’m in Charge Levy what do I know. Matt Doherty, Gollini, NDembele, LoSellOn, I still have doubts about Reg tbf..
Traore, a fukwittery purchase to patronise our more stupid fans ..

The biggest problem with Traore is consistency, he’s quite unique in his abilities in that he has almost unrivalled pace and power but his ability with the ball at his feet is debatable. When things go right he’s unplayable as defences have found out but on too many occasions he runs down blind alleys or plays a wasteful final ball.
Without the ball he doesn’t offer much from a defensive point, a number of managers/coaches have worked with him and had limited success, whether he would be a serious option for Conte seems surprising.

Would Conte play him as a wing back maybe? I can’t see him replacing Son or Lucas. I think most Wolves fans would be happy to see him leave

So our solution to a player who cant cross is a player with absolutely 0 end product?

Have to agree with Dino. Even given Conte’s ability to improve players he can do that with the guys we have. Don’t see this happening.

He has pace, and work ethic…however he doesn’t score & cant cross a ball so I’m not sure thats an improvement on what we already have.. .
