Despite inking goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to a contract extension that keeps the France international until 2024, Tottenham Hotspur isn’t afraid to look into the future and have someone ready to take over Lloris’ time in north London is done.
Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici brought Pierluigi Gollini to be that long-term solution when he arrived this past summer on loan. However, that move hasn’t gone as planned, leading to the extension for Lloris.
Nonetheless, the Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham is one of two clubs that could be in on Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson, who has been unable to unseat David De Gea and is under contract until 2025.
The report suggests that Henderson could be on the move, and should Spurs see him as the successor to Lloris, the 25-year-old had an impressive two-year loan stint with Sheffield United.
Along with Tottenham, Ajax also appears to be in on the goalkeeper, who could be looking for a project that seems him as the starter.
Sorry D.Mirror but I just can’t see this one happening.
Henderson may be self confident but that hasn’t proved to be enough to make him first choice at Utd., I personally like Nick Pope.
So a guy who is under contract for 3 more years at a better club could be on the move to play for a team that might not need or want him for a backup role he does not want?
I could become the next king of France if I were French or even spoke French and if there still were kings in France (the last king was in 1792).
He won’t come to sit on the bench as Billy says below.
I’d let Lloris go and get Henderson in..I really do not think Henderson will settle for second slot anywhere else ..been there done that ..it is a waste.
