Report: Tottenham Hotspur among the Premier League clubs eyeing Shakhtar Donetsk forward

Tottenham Hotspur needs to add some creativity to their squad; it was something that Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici didn’t address over the summer. Now the issue is rearing its ugly head.

Recently, talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara shared his displeasure with the club’s lack of creativity and the club’s inability to replace Christian Eriksen. As a result, with the January window approaching, various names will be surfacing, linking them to Tottenham.

TEAMtalk reports that Tottenham, along with Arsenal, is expressing interest in Shakhtar Donetsk forward Manor Solomon. The 22-year-old has been with the Ukrainian giants, scoring 20 goals and registering nine assists in 97 appearances.

When it comes to the possible cost, Transfermarkt places Solomon’s transfer value at £18-million, but with several Premier League clubs eyeing the player, the price could go up.

It doesn’t appear that Shakhtar Donetsk will be advancing into the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, and they’re last in Group D, so dropping into the UEFA Europa League will be a challenge.

As a result, the club could be open to selling the player if they’re no longer in European competitions past January.
