Report: Tottenham holding talks to beat out Inter Milan, Leicester for Torino defender

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur wants to improve its backline this summer, and although their number one target to fill this need is Alessandro Bastoni, it appears as though the 23-year-old has his heart set on remaining with Inter Milan.

Suppose the Italian defender doesn’t want to leave the Serie A side. In that case, Spurs will need to begin looking at other alternatives, which they could be doing so ahead of the summer transfer window opening in a couple of weeks.

According to Corriere Granata, Tottenham has a strong interest in Torino FC defender Gleison Bremer as contacts between the player’s entourage and Spurs continue. Furthermore, the Italian media outlet states that there’s a reported offer on the table.

Tottenham is talking about an offer of €35m plus bonus for the Brazil international. Nonetheless, they are far from being the only club eyeing Bremer for a summer move, as Inter Milan and Leicester City have an interest.

However, his priority will be to join a club playing UEFA Champions League football next season, so that is a favor in Spurs’ corner.

The ever changing stories. Only last week one head line read Inter found their replacement and is offering Bsstoni to Spurs. Am still laughing then I remember Barcelona had offered Dupay to us in April only to say now, if Spurs want him they can when we find a replacement. Make perfect sense to me. I will wait until they on the table with the physio at N17

Fwiw, Gleison Bremer looks more physically built for standing up to the pummeling that PL play offers than does Bastoni.

Interesting this is the player (Inter?) were supposed to be bringing in if they let Bastoni go so looking good for Spurs

There is a lot of deflection tactics going on regarding players we, or should I say Paratici and co. are actually interested in.

I’ve had a good look at him, and it’s fair to say he’s very similar to Romero. Reads the game well and is aggressive. Looks like a great signing to me. Add Bastoni and we’re gold

“Serie A defender of the year” – worked out ok last year! Seems more realistic that Bastoni, but is a right footer in the left sided role a problem? I don’t think it matters as much in a back 3 as it would in the LB or LWB role personally.
