Report: Tottenham dealt transfer blow by Inter Milan defender as focus shifts to Torino star

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly circled Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni to strengthen their backline for next season. However, the 23-year-old isn’t keen on leaving the Serie A side this summer.

Bastoni’s agent, Tullio Tinti, met with club directors, where he told reporters that his client would remain with Inter Milan.

“Bastoni will certainly remain at Inter,” Tinti told reporters via Football Italia. “He has a contract with Inter, he is happy to play at Inter and there’s no problem. I respect contracts. If they call me, there’s no problem.”

Bastoni is likely to have a number of conversations over the next few weeks, with those around him that he trusts: and from whom takes counsel. Like his family, for instance. There is also the fact that he could warm naturally to what is on offer, if any such offer had been made, or may possibly even be improved. It’s very early days right now; and our reported activity in the market, thus far, is very encouraging. Whether or not we get this guy is somewhat unimportant, right now. What is clear though, is that out Italian duo seem to have everything under control.

Actually reflecting on this I like this sort of business.
THFC approach the club/player/old git and the result is the player wants to stay. Nothing THFC can do about it – no damage done. Move on.

So many very decent alternatives out there.
Who knows the one we sign may turn out to be a better fit than Bastoni although we will never know for sure,
I respect Bastoni for wanting to stay at Inter.
