Report – Tottenham close to securing striker loan deal

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham is reportedly closing in on a deal for a backup striker to Harry Kane, according to reports in Portugal via TalkSPORT.

Spurs have had a busy summer transfer window, with the likes of Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon joining them last week.

The Lilywhites want to end their wait for a trophy and they are prepared to back Jose Mourinho with all the players he needs and one position that he wants to get a new player for is the striker role.

They have relied heavily on Kane for goals, but he will soon be supported by Benfica striker, Haris Seferovic, according to the report.

Spurs have been linked with a number of strikers this season, but they may have to settle for the Swiss international who scored 9 goals in 45 competitive games for the Portuguese side last season.

He scored 27 goals in the 2018/19 season and Spurs might help him rediscover his goalscoring form.

The report claims that Spurs are looking to land him on a season-long loan deal.

He won’t be the last player to join the club with the report also stating that Spurs are locked in talks with Inter Milan over the transfer of Milan Skriniar.

Shouldn’t take this too seriously, it’s not talksport but talk something else beginning with s. Can’t imagine Mou would want this level of player, even though Levy might. It’s also not a back-up striker we are after but a striker “that can compete with Kane”. Not my words but the gaffer’s.

When Levy got the 170odd million from the chancellor I did wonder if he’d use it to get ridiculous deals paying cash up front – you never know?

They say bad things come in threes.. Soldardo, Janssen and whatever this geezer’s name is again. I wont learn it until he scores a goal. I might not need to by the sound of things.

Hmmm, slightly underwhelming news strangely enough. Striker in form slump to come to PL to re-discover form? Can’t see that having a happy ending. Seems more like a ploy by Levy to squeeze the Italians’ wedding vegetables over Milik.
