As the 2021-22 season is nearing its end, speculation over the future of Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is beginning to surface. The Italian tactician is under contract for another season, but the issue of whether Conte remains or not is due to the financial side.

The 52-year-old will want the north London club to back him financially to improve the squad. However, if Spurs decide they aren’t willing to spend a significant sum to bring in new players, then there’s the possibility Conte could depart.

Should he decide to look elsewhere for employment, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter Milan is the likely destination for Conte should he leave Tottenham and return to Italy.

After Inter Milan is in a poor run of form, as a result, many are worried that manager Simone Inzaghi may not be the right man for the job to deliver the big trophies when it matters.

The main problem with Conte returning to the Serie A club he left after winning the title last season is that he commands a lot more wages than the current manager. His current salary is €12 million per season; meanwhile, Simone Inzaghi’s is €4 million.

Only the diminutive parasite could employ Conte without properly backing him. I too don’t really understand why Conte took the job. Levy’s MO is well known throughout the football world as being a smoke and mirror operator who has no ambition beyond getting his greasy little hands on some CL money, regardless that the team is not fit for that competition through lack of investment.
This summer is the make or break of the odd couple. Either Levy for once in his life takes football seriously, and gives the cash strapped fans who pay obscene ticket prices to watch mediocrity, some quality player additions, or Conte walks, and it won’t be pretty. He won’t go quietly with his lips sealed in the manner of the mouse-like Poch and Jose, no he’ll unleash a verbal storm on the football racket that Levy and enic run.

I’m baffled as to why he took the job in the first place. I mean, surely he would’ve spoken to Poch, Mourinho and Nuno before he made a decision to sign?? Surely!
When you’re a home-owner you need to keep doing the little, relatively cheap bits of maintenance every year, otherwise small problems snowball very quickly into big problems that you can’t afford to fix.
Levy is the man who finds a crack in the plaster or a bit of damp, and pushes furniture in front of it (in this case the furniture is the TH shopping centre) until the wall starts to crumble. Then the roof starts to sag and suddenly you’ve got an incredibly expensive problem.

Conté knows this very well now, and if Levy doesn’t fix the crumbling wall and saggy roof this summer, I fear he’ll be looking for alternative accommodation.

I thought Rose was excellent for a fair few seasons I also thought he was one one of the most unprotected LWB s in EPL history..got the sh%t kicked out of him week in week out while we , Spurs were playing Queensbury rules , pathetic. .
As for him gibbing off to Levy ..another pat in the back Danny Rose..

We have Kulu on an 18 month deal and still get him at the same price no matter how well he is doing ..with no re course for the home club..odd. Anyhow the cost will be factored in by the the Kappelmeister Levy ..which means less spending. ..and another project…

Kane isn’t quick and like Kane Diaz can finish from anywhere in the 18 yard box. That said he has been out months with an injury.

Levy will only sack Conte because he fears him leaving..Levy will do this because Levy believes he is in charge …he will still believe he is in charge when Kane fails to turn up next season all season..Still we will have Bale 🤮🤮

Season tickets up in April = no Top 4 No Conte and then no Kane ..can imagine Kane not bothering all season rather than lacing his boots properly at the end of January .

To retain both Romero and Kulu will cost around 50/60 mil to start with . In addition hanging onto Kane until he has only one season left on his contract could well mean he won’t turn up at all next season. However pathetic it reads Spurs form has improved as Kane switched back on at the end of Jan / Feb. I really cannot see Kane bothering if we do not achieve Top 4.
As for for all those who feel the that Levy “ has to” or “ will definitely “ invest in the summer. Why would he .55,000 to 58,000 every week there is absolutely no motivation for Levy to spend at all.
We have to bin off ..Royal, Winks, Reg, Dier ( he’s tragic you know ) Doherty because let’s face it name a coach worth a dropped bubblegum who is coming in will not want to coach that shower . At the same time we have to pay for Romero and Kulu..if we can’t find less able cheaper replacements.
Is there no one who can put the Shepherds crook round Levy’s throat and foist him out of Spurs.
” Here we are now entertain us “ ….
Were ENIC listening ..no mate they were counting..same sh#t different day.

Being mugged by Barca given their atrocious transfer record in the last few years should debunk the ‘Levy, transfer genius’ myth for everyone. Sadly, some idiots still love the facilities play.

You have to wonder where this concept of Conte being ‘backed’ to the levels required to maintain his services comes from. It seems as fanciful as our ‘pursuit’ of Diaz proved to be…

Levy’s also paying Paratici to do something or other, when you look at the Royal, Nuno and possibly Gatusso, you’re struggling to see what exactly that is.

Romero, Kulusevski and Betty are all from Juventus or ex Juventus. What’s his scouting knowledge outside of that? Seen nothing so far…

No Spurs fan wants to see Conte not backed and leave. However people simply have to be realistic, rather than pis*ing in the wind and hoping for something miraculous to happen…

I see the club carrying on in the same way. The key question is if Conte feels this will be an environment in which he can flourish.

He hasn’t been known for developing younger players and similar to Jose in that way. In the past they’ve had big budgets and have been able to get the kind of players they need.

He’s already described Kulusevski and Betty to the Italian press as “not ready players”. There’s going to have to be a fairly significant change in the way Levy allows transfers to go ahead if there’s to be the immediate improvement levels that Conte feels he needs, to compete.

He doesn’t strike me as someone who’s prepared to waste time in his career on a job where there’s little chance of winning anything. He simply doesn’t have to, he’s one of the top managers in the world…

Romero only. Kulu have time on the 18 month loan unless we want to fast track it. Winks, Bergwjin, Reggie, Doherty can return upwards of $50m towards purchase. Not sure we can off load Tanguy or Locelso no one is going to pay $25m for us to break even.

I hate Enic and their happy clappers BUT they will back Tony in the Summer.
He is happy at Spurs he just wants us to do well. 2-3 top players guaranteed.

I am still smarting at the Manure game we should have won that if only England’s best defender could have done his job that day.

Anyway great result at Scumford Bridge today made me really happy.Well done Chris.
The commentator said “they couldnt cope with Brentford’s 2 strikers” I hope Enic were listening.

I was considering the likely limited budget available this summer when naming the two young players, regarding Spence Boro let him go on loan due to the emergence of Jones.
Both undoubtedly have a future in the Prem., and we have looked down before in the past, Rose, Walker, Lennon, Naughton and Dele to name a few were relatively cheap, and did ok.

I’m not sure of BD as he’s not quick, but as strikers go Johnson looks ideal and is not lacking in experience being a Welsh international already.

Dont we have to cough up for Romero and Kulu this summer. If that’s right how much more is the Kappelmeister going to spend on players ..the old players out players in routine..

Interesting post in one of the papers that he might replace Mourinhp at Roma but it’s probably nonsense. He won’t have a problem finding another job if he decides to go. Levy has never backed his managers in the past so why should he start now?

Levy paid 25m for Royal so he clearly has no idea what he’s doing. Expect punts with potential that no one else wants. As usual.

If we’re looking down rather than up for transfer targets,we could do worse than Jones the Boro RWB to join those other two.

In truth though we should be setting our sights higher and that will be decided by the bald midget,so we shouldn’t hold our breath.

Unfortunately for us, Levy defies any football logic. ENIC will determine whether Conte stays and I’m nervous about that given their disinterest in building a football team.

He will obviously be with us next season. He’s never even had a summer window or pre season with us.. He left his previous jobs after years in charge and winning stuff.. To suggest this man would leave us in a matter of months after one summer window is foolhardy and wishful thinking for any non spurs fan… Conte has never left a job in the first season, there’s no reason or logic to suggest he will do now.. Sensible money would be on the 2nd and 3rd year mark. I hope he stays longer though of course.

Off subject,I notice Danny Rose can’t make Hodgson’s squad for Watford, after being banished by Ranieri.Such a waste of a career with his attitude and bloodymindedness.
I guess this is another contract he will run down.I don’t see anyone above the Championship offering a route back now, perhaps it’s time to call it a day.

I fully agree. If you are not signing 25 to 27 year old players who are already fully established and performing at top top levels internationally (Transfer fees of a minimum of around GBP 50 to 60 Million), then you are NOT likely to win the Premier League and are Always going to be fighting to get into the top 4. Spurs need to urgently sign at least 5 such players this summer to begin competing at that level.

AFD article? (Pesce d’Aprile in Italy) Seeing as they’re still skint & likely to sell players with minimal re-investment, the very reason he left.
(Did anyone else see/read another AFD piece about Antonio considering taking the Roma job if José is sacked? 🤣)

If you look at the age of the players we keep signing, it hardly looks like we are in the process of doing anything other than continuing the ‘jam tomorrow’ and planning for the future myth. Which is why I see Conte leaving this summer…
