Report: Premier League club are considering a stunning move for ‘important’ Tottenham player

By Mehdi Gokal -

Manchester United are reportedly considering a sensational move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United have joined in the race to sign the England captain, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich also interested in him.

Harry Kane’s contract ends in 2024 and the club is yet to be able to convince him down to an extension. Spurs had held preliminary talks with the striker earlier this year, but no further talks have taken place since. And according to an earlier report, they are not in a hurry to strike a new deal despite being concerned about Bayern’s advances.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have identified Harry Kane as an ‘important’ option to replace Cristiano Ronaldo and that the ‘English striker is one of the great wishes’ of the people at Old Trafford.

Offloading Ronaldo, who is clearly in a slump and is unable to reach the heights he once did, and replacing him with Kane, who is still in his prime, would be wise business for Manchester United.

However, with strong interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich as well, Kane will have a decision to make if he decides to leave Spurs. He might not wish to jeopardise his legacy at the club by joining their London rivals Chelsea but will be open to a move to Manchester as he was last summer.

And if he decides to take on a challenge in another country then all roads lead to Bayern Munich who reportedly want him as early as January. He’d be the perfect replacement for Lewandowski who left Bayern for Barcelona in the summer. It will be interesting to see how this Kane saga plays out.

It can’t be more unstable as it was just before Nuno was appointed, however I don’t think Levy would sell Kane to another Premiership club either. Having said that, 200m for a player almost 30 years old with less than two years left on his contract wouldn’t turn Levy’s head?

Levy would no longer sell Kane to a direct competitor, not even for over £200 million, otherwise he would lose Conte irrespective of whether or not the club hold the extension to his contract. Lose Conte AND Kane? then the entire board’s tenure becomes unstable. Basically, everyone needs to be able to rely on everyone else at the club for a very good chance of success!

@judge – you miss the point- players play to win trophies and titles and he has t win anything at spurs and I doubt he will.

Why does beating Rooney’s scoring record require that Kane remains in the PL for the rest of his career? Are you suggesting he will not be picked for England if he moves to play abroad? What do you base that on.Besides he would probably get more “fab wages” elsewhere, currently they’re not that “fab”.

Kane a great player with a great club , getting fab wages , captain of England , World Cup on the horizon . Goalscoring records – broken many but the big ones are only achievable if he stays with Spurs . Greavesie’s record , Rooneys England record and Shearers Prem ,probably all require him to finish his career in England .
Harry has that romantic loyalty feel to him , to England and to Spurs , and I cannot believe that ManUtd or Bayern can offer him more with special regard to his scoring legacy . And HE IS SPURS through and through . [Touch of romance there too]

You’re forgetting the Conte effect. He’s far more likely to leave next summer. The ndoes Harry wait while the next rebuild is slowly put in place.

I personally dont think he will sign why should he (put up some sensible answers if you think he will sign).
His signing on fee and new wages would eclipse anything he earns at Spurs.
I think the only thing that would put the pen in his hand is if Spurs win a major trophy this year maybe extending as low as the FA Cup.

Very much so. There no way he’s renewing with us if he wants the trophies he craves.

I can’t see him going to Utd but neither can I see him signing a new contract with Spurs with two years left to run at 28. His plan will be move at 30 (if he’s not sold before) and get a massive deal as a free agent at a winning club.

It remains to be seen if Levy stubbornly lets his contract run down, but if he doesn’t then he will need to cash in on him this summer. After that his market value plummets as his contract nears its end. Which makes the Bayern links look more and more a case of ‘no smoke without fire’ by the day…

Would it be possible to name these people that ‘know Tottenham’ and why they might ‘know Tottenham’ any better than anyone else? Names please… 🤔

Absolute fiction. If you read the articles by the people who actually know Tottenham then you’d realise that Kane is looking to sign a new contract.
