‘Discussions have already begun…’ – Tottenham have been informed that Harry Kane ‘might leave’ this January

By Mehdi Gokal -

Former West Ham United striker turned pundit Frank McAvennie has informed Tottenham Hotspur that superstar Harry Kane ‘might leave’ in January.

According to recent reports, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing the Premier League forward, with Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claiming he could become a ‘hot topic’.

Plettenberg told Sky Germany that the England captain wants to move to Munich. He explained:

“The discussions have already begun. He is the number one top target. There was contact between Bayern and Charlie Kane. Harry Kane can really, really imagine joining Bayern.”

“Bayern bosses have told them ‘Let’s see what happens. We have Mane. We have Coman, Sane, Gnabry and so on’. But if they don’t work and they miss that number nine, then I have already told you, Bayern Munich is a number nine club. Harry Kane will become very hot.”

“There was definitely contact between the Bayern responsibles and Charlie Kane, the brother of Harry. We hear it confirmed that Harry Kane can really, really imagine joining Bayern. It’s too early to say he will do this. It depends on the situation with Tottenham.”

“Nobody could believe Sadio Mane would make that step from the Premier League to Bayern, so why shouldn’t Harry Kane join him?”

And McAvennie believes the striker could leave as early as January. Speaking with Football Insider, he said:

“I think he might leave in January. I watched Bayern Munich on Tuesday night and I thought wow they need a striker. They definitely need a striker. I think he’ll go, I think it would be a good fit for him.

“We know he loves Tottenham but a player like Harry Kane can’t go through his career and not win anything, even if it’s just the one. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bayern Munich try and get him in January.”

There is no denying that Bayern are missing Lewandowski, their goalscoring machine this season after losing him to Barcelona in the summer. With the Bundesliga club already publicly admitting their interest in the Spurs striker, it won’t be surprising if they do make a move for him in January instead of next summer. But whether Kane will leave Spurs hanging mid-season or not will be interesting to see. Much might depend on how Spurs are doing in the league.

My suspicion is that after Levy promised Harry he could leave when he wanted after signing the last contract and then reneged Harry will purposely see out the contract then leave for free.

If you were Harry , what would you do ?? He’s closing in on Jimmy’s record , Shearers record is there for the taking and for England , well thats just a countdown now .
Harry would still be guessing if he joined Bayern or Barca or Real , let alone Man U , City are totally satisfied [ as they should be ] with the superb Haaland and Spain surely has no obvious draw for him any more .
However you look at it , Spurs are still THE MOST LIKELY to break ranks and start a new order . We’re not there yet , but in the time he has left we are the safest bet for him to satisfy his hunger for success . He is loved and can achieve it all right here — and soon . C O Y S !

It’s very difficult to prove tapping up. I wondered whether Richarlison was bought as his successor. Kane’s s likely to wait until the end of the season before he comes to an agreement with the club but the option of him running down his contract would keep Levy awake at night, so if he doesn’t sign a new one, Levy will have little choice but to sell him. I can’t see him going to an English club as City have Haaland, Liverpool have just bought Nunez, who might turn out to be a disaster and I can’t see him going to Chelsea, so, logically, Utd would be the only option. Bayern are currently fourth in the table, five points behind the leader, having lost to Augsburg on Saturday and the fans and players are not that happy with Nagelsmann. They’re playing without a recognised no 9 after failing to replace Lewandowski and it’s showing. RM are the other possibility for him as Benzema is thirty four so I feel that this season is decision time for him and the club.

Yep sounds about right… He’s already dropped from 138 million down to 80 million according to transfermarkt.

I think it is telling that while things have been going reasonably well this season he hasnt signed a new contract.
As someone mentioned – it is a very difficult decision for Levy in the Summer.
Hold him for a final season saving (insert cost of top striker) or letting him go but his price would be so low – anyone have a guess ? I will start off with a punt at £40m/£50m

To be Frank, if this was true and Kane was in discussions then they would be charged with tapping him up. He’s not in the last 6 months of his contract so Bayern would have to ask permission from Spurs before anything.

If he goes to Chavs on as free it is beause he ran down his contract,so we wouldn’t be involved in negotiations.

As for Utd.I think Ten Hag will turn their fortunes around and Harry could be the ideal fit when CR7 leaves. They’re silly enough to pay the crazy money Levy would insist on asking for.

Bayern President said no to this only last week. Charlie is playing at upping the salary Spurs offer for the contract extension me thinks. Harry won’t go abroad, he’s got Shearer’s record to beat, and his choice of English clubs is limited now Citeh has Haaland and Liverpool has Nunez. That leaves Chelsea on a free as we don’t deal with them or United (haha). My guess, Harry will leave Spurs for a mid table Prem team in 2026 being still 12 goals short of the record!

If by next August Kane hasn’t signed a deal that will commit at least 3 more years to us, I seriously think Levy will let him leave! He has to, otherwise the following year he’ll be able to leave on a free and we’ll get no money for him at all. The question is, does he think he can win some trophies with us? because that will be the deciding factor (apart from more money of course)

More likely that Kane will sign a new contract with Spurs 👍🏻

… and I might shag an international super-model for Christmas! … however, back in the real world, the only ‘leaving’ involves the separation of Frank McAvennie from his brain! Not an uncommon occurrence amongst ex-footballers turned pundits.

The original article was laughable for its sheer stupidity, but unfortunately it has been regurgitated wholesale here, to equally asinine conclusion! Harry is not leaving in January, he is not leaving the EPL and he is not going to Bayern Munich, not now and not ever.

This seems like another stunt concocted by Harry’s moronic sibling, Charlie Kane, who has ‘form’ for this kind of amateurish attempted media manipulation. It backfired spectacularly a year ago, when he was ‘schooled’ by Levy and has no chance of succeeding now.

You…are…having…a…laugh!!! You completely disregarded the most important person in this deal – DANIEL motherf*cking LEVY! Never in a MILLION years is he letting him leave in January and very unlikely he will leave end of this season. It’s very likely he wants the all time Prem goal scorer not to mention he’s happy the direction Spurs are going in. So these BS stories are only designed to do one thing is unsettle him.
