Jose Mourinho will be backed financially in January to start to make the Tottenham Hotspur squad his own, according to Sky Sports.

The 56-year-old was appointed as Spurs’ new head coach on Wednesday morning, less than 12 hours after the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino.

One of the factors behind Pochettino’s downfall at Spurs this season, after five years of continued progress, has been the failure, or reluctance, for chairman Daniel Levy to invest in the squad rebuild that was required.

Levy and Mourinho do not seem to be a good match, but ‘The Special One’ must have been satisfied with what he has been promised and the Spurs chairman has already made a big financial commitment to the new boss…
