Report: Former Spurs manager has made contact with Tanguy Ndombele

By Eddie Razo -

Tanguy Ndombele reportedly wants out of Tottenham Hotspur, and Spurs former manager Jose Mourinho is ready to hand him a lifeline out of north London.

According to Telefoot (via Daily Mail), the Roma boss has contacted the midfielder personally about heading to the Italian capital. In addition, the report states that Mourinho is looking for a new midfielder, so landing a player he’s familiar with peaks his interest.

Since joining the Serie A club, Mourinho has swooped in to grab Premier League talent, adding Tammy Abraham and Ainsley Maitland-Niles. Now it seems the Portuguese tactician wants to reunite with his former player.

There are no further details on whether Roma can afford the player’s wages or meet whatever asking price Spurs want for the midfielder.

One of the sticking points to offloading Ndombele is his wages, as he’s been proposed in reported swaps, but no club wants to assume the financial responsibilities. It will be interesting to see if Mourinho can convince the Roma bosses to roll the dice.
