Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini isn’t going to stay with the north London club past this season. The 26-year-old has a £13million option on his loan deal, but with Hugo Lloris extending his contract, the Italian won’t be a starter.
As a result, Gollini is looking at his options for next season. The goalkeeper was recently linked to Lazio, and a return to Serie A appears likely, with Fiorentina now entering the race for Gollini.
CalcioMercato reports that I Viola want to bring back the player that went through their academy while growing up. There’s no further information as to what Fiorentina intends to provide to land the goalkeeper or whether there’s a contract on the table for his representatives.
Gollini was brought in to maybe the heir apparent to Lloris, whose contract expired in 2023. Nonetheless, it seems Spurs didn’t feel comfortable with what they saw in the Italian and extended the veteran goalkeeper.
Another position that needs filling urgently.
From clips he seems a great guy encouraging team mates always positive but when he is in goal he makes me anxious when the ball comes near (just like I did with Vorm but not Gazza).
I wish you well back in Italy.
