Tottenham Hotspur didn’t address their backline during the January transfer window as it seems they’ve punted on the issue until the summer. However, after watching their defensive performance against Southampton, they might want to put that as the number one problem to fix.
Last summer, they did bring in Cristian Romero from Atalanta, but they’ll need to improve the central defense further, and one of the possible targets is Lille OSC defender Sven Botman. Unfortunately, they could be on the verge of missing out on the Netherlands defender.
Football Italia relayed the information out of Italy, revealing that Botman’s agents had a long meeting with Milan where they reportedly agreed to basic personal terms with the Lille defender. However, a bidding war with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur remains.
The report details that a basic five-year contract was agreed at €2.5m per season plus bonuses between the two parties, so the player has a concrete preference for Milan.

Not going to happen it seems. The Mail is saying Paratici’s new brief is to identify young up ans coming talent, obviously for Levy to sell on hopefully at a profit. So everything changes yet remains the same.
We all know where the squad needs improving and strengthening, which has to be with players who can hit the groung running, not hopeful punts that may or may not make the grade. As ever it’s jam tomorrow.
ENIC/Levy out.
