“Really important player” – Antonio Conte has high praise for Dejan Kulusevski

By Eddie Razo -

During the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur was in the market for a forward that could help in the attack to lessen the responsibility on Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

In the final hours, the north London club landed Juventus FC forward Dejan Kulusevski, and the 21-year-old is showing flashes that he can be a sidekick providing offense to the Spurs attack.

After the win against Leeds United, Conte answered a question regarding his thoughts on the form of the former Juventus forward since coming into the squad a couple of weeks ago.

“I was very clear when I signed Bentancur and Kulusevski. Two perfect players for the club, young talented players to develop. Kulusevski is a player who is only 21 years old, and in these four games he could have scored in every game,” Conte said, per Football.London.

Conte added that Kulusevski could be an important player right now for Spurs and not only for the future if he continues developing and producing at this rate.

“I think he is showing that he is a fantastic player for the present but also he if he continues in this way he can become a really important player,” Conte continued.

“He is strong physically, good technically; he has no fear of the opponent or the tackle. It is a good sign, with Harry and Son, also Lucas Moura and Bergwijn, offensively we are good, and I am happy for this.”

The Sweden international scored against Leeds United, marking his second goal in five Premier League appearances. Kulusevski is also producing 1.2 key passes per 90 and 2.0 total shots per game since arriving last month.

For one so young he already has a certain presence about him.

Oh for a tiny bit more pace.
