Ray Parlour explains why he thinks Tottenham Hotspur can “beat any club”

By Eddie Razo -

Tottenham Hotspur is coming off a good weekend in which Tottenham Hotspur convincingly defeated Aston Villa by a score of 4-0. As their last two results have shown, the north London is clicking on all cylinders, beating their previous two opponents by a combined score of 9-1.

During a segment on talkSPORT, English football pundit Ray Parlour thinks Tottenham can beat ‘any club’ when they have Son Heung-min and Harry Kane in form.

“If they don’t win any, anything under Conte, then you’re never going to win anything because you know, you’ve got a manager that is a proven winner. Wherever he’s gone, he gets the best out of players. Now, there was, there was a spell where he was a little bit frustrated, come across where they didn’t go and stop signing players and let a few players go,” Parlour said.

“But suddenly he’s got a team really now doing what they have to do, go out and perform every week, you know, your job, don’t go and do it, and they’re doing it. And as you mentioned there, if you got Son and Kane on form, they could beat any club because Son, for me, is just as important as Harry Kane, definitely. Because what’s the player he is and Lloris, World Cup winner, he proves that he’s a top-class goalkeeper at the weekend as well.”

Spurs only have a handful of matches left in their season, including the important fixture against Arsenal on May 12, which could decide who finishes in the top four.

As of now, Tottenham holds a three-point lead over The Gunners, and with the other clubs like Manchester United and West Ham United are beginning to fall behind. The race for the final UEFA Champions League spot will come down to the two north London rivals if Arsenal doesn’t continue to drop points.

Therein lies the biggest Spurs problem, if Son and Kane are injured or out of form you are struggling.

Whilst not being his greatest fan , no one can doubt that Matt Doherty has really put his best foot forward since New Year began .Conte has definitely got him to produce his “old form” .
So I have tremendous sympathy for him after suffering such a heart-breaking injury , I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he returns fitter and better than ever , the man has guts .
