Raúl Jimenez To Tottenham, what might be the odds?

By The Boy -

In the search for a decent striker back-up/utility striker, it’s become evident that Tottenham have lost sight of the ‘decent’ bit. Without any overtly mean spirited disrespect to a good number of our alleged suitors, all of them have been unspectacular. All of them.

The next best thing to a striker that Spurs can actually use successfully (opposed to psychologically destroy) would be Raúl Jimenez. If we look at the profile, for the role Steve Hitchen is allegedly recruiting for, then the 29-year-old is a great fit.

Just a further point on Hitchen, whilst we’re here. I cannot believe in such a scripted moment, our man Steve made such a bad first impression. Maybe he’s the kind of person that grows on you. But he strikes me as being the Peter Principle incarnate.

Transfermarkt

So what of the vulgarities of money? Transfermarkt have tinkered to factor in the ol’ Coronavirus amortization which leave us staring at £35million. Personally, I’d take that even that number with a pinch of salt.

Would Wolves sell, to anyone, to us? Well, why the heck not, I say. They just bought Fabio Silva and the Birmingham Mail believes that Raúl could well be surplus to their requirement.

The eye catchers in all this for me are twofold; one, the guy is a proven winner. Not in England, but abroad, and two, he’s a proven winner.

Over to you Steve Hitchen. Surprise us and actually do something.

Jimenez has Mourinho written all over it, Dier should not be a first choice CB .

Strikers as effective as Jimenez don’t come cheap, so forget it.

Absolutely agree, what is Southgate thinking? Jimenez is a good player with no resale value. Wolves look like a well run club who aren’t afraid to buy potential and sell dear. On the other hand, we are a empty shell of a football club run by a micro managing anally retentive dwarf.

England have been dreadful so far.Kane has had no service and Dier is no left sided CB.Plus there is no midfield,I don’t know how Phillips is in the squad.

He’d be a lovely little purchase for any truly ambitious club, exactly the sort of signing we should but never make.

I reckon he loves playing for Wolves though
