Rank average Danny Rose is not the only one who wished he had left three years ago|opinion

Danny Rose has become one of the most outspoken and controversial players in English football and the England full-back seems not to know when to shut his trap.

He got into trouble with Tottenham back in 2017 when he claimed that some of their players deserved to be on a bigger salary.

He has now spoken up about his career again by claiming he would have loved to be the player that was sold in 2017.

Spurs did very well in the 2016/2017 season when they fell just short of winning the title, losing out to eventual winners Leicester City.

The following season they were beaten by Chelsea to the title as Mauricio Pochettino’s men came second behind eventual winners Chelsea.

It was a fine individual campaign for Kyle Walker and Danny Rose and Spurs cashed in on Walker who joined Manchester City for a record deal.

Rose has revealed that he wished he was the player that the Lilywhites sold that summer.

Rose said on Instagram: “I was doing well in the 2016/17 season. I had a chance of leaving Tottenham and then I got injured and it killed me.

“Kyle Walker left, which he deserved to and I was over the moon for him, but some part of me wished it was me.”

Rose can take it to the bank that he is not the only one that wished he was sold at that time. He had maybe one good season but overall was rank average. A terrible defender that could run up the flanks fast enough but lacked a delivery of any real substance.
