He scored in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich, but has otherwise been six out of 10 all the way – nothing too good, nothing too bad.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Saturday’s visit of Liverpool, Sessegnon has revealed what Jose Mourinho has asked him to do to aid his improvement.
“I’ve been a bit disappointed in myself, the way I have been playing recently.”

I think that is an honest and fair self-assessment from Sessegnon. He has played it very safe, often picking the simple pass in favour of trying to beat his man down the left, perhaps lacking the arrogance – ‘the good kind’ – that some of his young English peers like Trent Alexander-Arnold have shown.
Clearly this kid is a top prospect and I’m sure we are all happy to see him in the team. Hopefully he will learn quickly from Mourinho’s instructions.

I have no fears Ryan will be an effective player, he showed it in the Premier League for Fulham. As long as his confidence is not damaged by the slump in Tottenham’s form.
