Pundit makes a bold comparison between Kane and in-form Premier League striker

Former Arsenal defender turned TV pundit Lee Dixon, has claimed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin can be compared to Harry Kane after the Everton striker impressed and scored on his England debut last night.

Calvert-Lewin is the most in-form striker in England at the moment having scored nine goals in six games so far.

It was fitting that the 23-year-old was handed his first England call up and he made sure to leave an impression when he scored a fine header in the game against Wales.

Gareth Southgate rested Kane as he gave chances to the likes of Danny Ings and the Toffees striker.

Both scored in the game to send a message to Kane that they are ready to battle him for the striker role in the national team.

Dixon was on commentary duty for the game on ITV and he accepted that it was fair to compare Calvert-Lewin to Kane because they make the same runs in behind and know where the goal is.

“Yeah why not, his physique over the last season has improved. It is easy to compare goals, but he has always made those runs like Kane and as Ian Wright says, he knows where the middle of the goal is,” Dixon said as quoted by TBRFootball

Fingers crossed that our first choice XI comes through the Interlull lunacy relatively unscathed. Hopefully Reguilon is just a minor knock but they send him back to Spurs as a precaution.

How many assists has Kane had this season?

What range of passing has Kane shown?

I don’t think you can really compare but Calvert-Lewin seems a good prospect so far.

Yep Kane, along with Son, are world class, this is Calvert-Lewin’s first breakthrough season and still early days in that, he’s got a long way to go before he’s compared to Kane.

He’s got a load a work to do before he comes anywhere near Kane. He’ll put that work in.

Lets see him score 30 plus goals season after season after season before comparing him to Harry… Jamie Vardy makes those runs in behind and is deadlier I reckon. He won the last golden boot. Calv needs to win that before being compared to the best.. Kanes all round game means he outshines them both in my opinion. He can do so much more. No strikers are assisting like Kane.
