According to reports in Italy, Chelsea wants to add Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane to his squad next summer.
CalcioMercatoWeb reports that the new Chelsea manager Graham Potter ‘really likes’ Harry Kane and is willing to use club-record signing Romelu Lukaku as part of the deal to bring the Spurs striker to Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku returned to Stamford Bridge in a club record £98 million deal last summer, but the Belgian struggled under Thomas Tuchel and was sent on a season-long loan to Inter Milan this summer.
The Blues may now try to capitalise on Antonio Conte’s previous relationship with Romelu Lukaku. They had a successful spell together at Inter Milan, working together to end Juventus’ Serie A dominance and Chelsea will hope that a possibility of a reunion with Conte might help strike a deal with Spurs for Kane.
Spurs have still not sorted out a new contract for their star striker and with Bayern and Chelsea lurking around, speculations about him leaving the club has only increased.
Recent reports suggested Bayern are considering making a January move for the ‘world class‘ striker instead of waiting for next summer. And now with Chelsea registering their interest in him, things could become quite interesting.
The only obstacle for Chelsea as per the report would be the London club’s pre-agreement with Inter which states the Italian club has the option to extend Lukaku’s stay for a second season on loan if they wish to do so.
Another factor to be considered is Kane’s willingness to move to Spurs’ London rivals, which could jeopardize his legacy at Spurs. And while he was willing to move to Manchester City last summer in search of trophies, he might think twice about a move to Stamford Bridge.
Spurs have started the season really well, sitting third on the table, just one point behind league leaders Arsenal and are yet to lose a game in the Premier League. But if Spurs end the season without a silverware, Harry Kane would seriously consider leaving the club in the hunt for trophies and while Bayern remains the most probable option, one can’t rule Chelsea out.

Nah…. Never trust a winker!
Who is Mehdi Gokal?
Sooner, rather than later… 😉
Imagine Lukaku at Spurs.
You’d never get him out of the cheese room.
Eventually you’ll be right 😉
No I didn’t, I said I wouldn’t be surprised if he went. My view has not changed, I don’t see Conte as a long-term fixture at Spurs, I never have done because it doesn’t make any sense.
He’s been in the serious music press (where he certainly has no place) making certain claims. He always seems quite bitter about being little more than a glorified karaoke singer and dancer.
I don’t frequent gossip columns or anything of the sort.
Ditto
Perhaps stay away from celebrity magazines and newspapers.. He hasn’t appeared anywhere I go.
You said that last summer..
Why had Robbie Willams suddenly appeared again, pontificating on all things? Total gosh*te…
We won’t go for Lukaku as Kane’s replacement because Conte won’t be staying beyond the summer.
Yeah, I was aware. Was just making fun of the woke gender nonsense.
Probably ES was refering to the grammar in the sentence.
I stopped supporting England years ago.
Watch Eric Dier get into the England world cup squad in return for this bullsh$t agenda he’s been picked to peddle. Waaaa! Football fans are so unruuuuuly….turn it in it’s like going to a outdoor cinema. Control control control. Remember the 70’s/80’s?
Enjoy your fixed world cup sunshine.
Yes, we shouldn’t be assuming the gender of Chelsea football club😂
Chelsea wants to add Harry Kane to ‘his’ squad next season? Dear oh dear…
