As a deal with AC Milan becomes more complicated, Nottingham Forest are reportedly prepared to offer €25 million for Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga.
According to Calciomercato, Nottingham Forest are interested in Japhet Tanganga and are willing to pay €25 million for the defender. The Premier League newcomers are hoping to reach an agreement in principle with Tottenham after a potential move to AC Milan for the defender reportedly fell through.
Japhet Tanganga has been a long-term target for AC Milan this summer, and the Rossoneri remain hopeful of bringing him to San Siro. Despite a period when the Serie A champions were focused on other targets, they are back in the running for the Tottenham defender.
Tanganga has fallen out of favour at Tottenham, particularly since the arrival of Antonio Conte. In the summer, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino strengthened the central defensive position and right-back slots, where Tanganga previously played for the club. And this summer, he has been amongst those who Spurs have been actively looking to get rid of.
Milan and Tottenham’s talks became complicated when they couldn’t agree on the terms of the loan agreement. Tottenham accepted Milan’s initial loan proposal but wanted to include a €25 million “obligation to buy” clause. The Italian titans had no objections to the price, but they wanted it to be an option rather than a requirement.
While the two clubs remain at odds, Nottingham Forest appear to be closing in on a deal with Spurs. The Premier League newcomers are willing to pay €25 million for Tanganga, which the north Londoners will be open to accepting. According to the report, Nottingham Forest are ‘close to reaching an agreement’ with Tottenham.
Forest may have a financial advantage over Milan in the pursuit of Tanganga; the player’s desire will be crucial, as will Tottenham’s desire to remove him from their squad. The next few days will be crucial in determining the defender’s future, as he appears to be leaving north London.
Well they’re empty .there is now room for improvement.
Levy needs the cash in Euros to purchase and smuggle tobacco back into the UK after our Champions League away fixtures.
A vowel and a few consonants 😄
Trouble is, Daniel hasn’t given up hope of him winning a few England caps. I bet it’s a loan initially….
West Ham are in for Paqueta and hot off the press in Spain, Liverpool have made an offer of €90 million for Valverde. That war chest is collecting moths.
How’s that stuff working out with your testes?
I thought they were all “stars”. What’s the difference between a star and an ace?
Seriously, sell now at 25m whatever currency, ask questions later.
You must HATE Spurs if you don’t regard ALL our players as aces – shame on you! 🤣
ACE?? when did this guy last play?
£20-£25m for a totally unproven defender must be a fantastic deal for Spurs – it doesn’t matter who’s paying .
Jaffa , for one reason or another , is unlikely to show his ability , is so far down the pecking order its similar to getting international type money for a reserve .
Somebody bite their hands off , please !!!!!!!!1111
I wish him well there is a player in there somewhere..
WinkyTubby ..The Man from U.N.C..L.E….United Network Command for Levy Enforcement..
Why would English team Forest make an offer to English team Spurs in euros?
I know the pound isn’t worth much these days but the euro isn’t much better.
Does Stefano Pioli ‘just love him’ though?
Yeh Winks is a prime example of holding on too long.I was reading this morning he’s only interested in moving to a PL side. He’ll be doing a Danny Rose for the remainder of his contract, which I believe runs until 2024.
I guess he has delusions about making the WC squad.Mind you Southgate does inexplicably like him.
25M for Tanganga yes please. The crazy prices being paid for English players at present is obscene.
Indeed. Way too long we hold on to player in the hope that they do come good which never happens. Bale was the absolute exception rather than the norm.
Im all in for developing younger players and signing them, but likewise we must be quick to move them on(if the price is right) when it is clear they arent gonna be 1st team quality
I’d take the £25 million. I also had high hopes of Tanganga but time to move on.
I had very very high hopes for Japhet but the kid just kept getting injured at the wrong times stopping his momentum. Hopefully he gets regular football time elsewhere and is then able to show his skills. Will be following his career closely.
