Police end investigation into Dier altercation with Spurs fan

By Ron Carne -

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier will reportedly face no police action after his altercation with a fan following the FA Cup tie with Norwich City.

The 26-year-old was seen making his way into the stands after the defeat last month as his brother was involved in a confrontation with a fan.

Fortunately, the situation was swiftly diffused by stewards as Dier was led away, although the police did still open up an investigation into the matter.

“The investigation concluded with no further action,” a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police is quoted as stating, as per the Daily Mail.

However, the report above adds that Dier isn’t entirely out of the woods just yet, as the FA put their investigation to the side to allow the police to take charge of the situation.

In turn, it remains to be seen if any further action is taken by them or if Dier is allowed to move on from the incident when football resumes.

The England international has had to patiently wait to find out the outcome of the findings amid the coronavirus crisis, which has forced all games to be suspended until April 30 at the earliest with a new announcement expected this week.
