Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to BBC Sport this week that he is ready to get back into management, a month after his Tottenham Hotspur sacking.
But for now the Argentine is enjoying some downtime over in Qatar, watching the FIFA Club World Cup with his Spurs number two Jesus Perez.

Perez uploaded this video of Pochettino holing an incredible foot-golf shot, and celebrating with his dialled-down impression of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pochettino leaves a gem at the end too – “without pressure I cannot play.”
The irony is not lost on me, either. But nice to see Poch in good spirits.

Yes to all of that.
Seeing this at the same time I see Liverpool crowned world club champions and it really sinks in where we could have been if Poch had not let levy get away with that summer in 2018 where he signed no one. Had we spent a little (not more than usual £70m) on 2 good players we could have been there.
True, as 20 years of ENIC tells it’s own story…
Player power is my theory. Poch wanted a freshen up and to get everyone on board with his methods again. Despite what he did with them, the senior players perhaps found the training training too intensive and lost faith with Poch not being backed?
Jose has provided the new manager effect and different training environment. I’m still convinced he’ll be with us two seasons max. Possibly not even past the summer.
Jose could win the FA Cup and get top 4 in just the same way Poch got top 4 and to the CL final. That’s the limit of Levy’s ambitions and Poch was delivering basically. This season he lost the players because he wasn’t backed.
Something went toxic last season and now we have Levy having to back down and finally pay Toby the going rate. Why not a year ago? Why does Jose get a properly paid Toby and not Poch?
Perhaps because Jose has the track record that Levy can’t deny, he has to listen to him and keep the better players he recommends keeping. Levy has been forced to back the players rather than perform an ‘expensive’ rebuild.
Jose wants stability for the short term so the targets can be reached for ENIC’s marketing strategy to get the naming rights for the stadium and to also capitalise on the Amazon series.
Poch clearly wasn’t backed for a rebuild, Jose is there to provide the short term fix ENIC need. Let’s hope this is all to position for selling the club.
AIA are the biggest insurance group in Asia, perhaps there’s an interested consortium out there? Who knows, but there’s an air of ‘mend and make do’ about all of this…
Only time will tell.
They will when he wins the league with Utd…
Nobody cares about this guy anymore. We have a new Manager to back, time to let go.
